Month: March 2013

After the explosion of colors that has been happening in this blog during the past days, let’s rest our eyes and delight on this black and white space from Valencia, Spain.  It’s not too serious and harsh even though Carlos Serra, the designer, wanted to create  a space full of strong personality.  He added  a few light pieces to lighten up the sober space.

A sofa upholstered in cowhide skin and the brass mirror are the queen and king of this living room.  The flames in the fireplace is also powerful.

Now that my love for brass, which I’m professing for over two years now, has spread around I’m more certain that real love is the only way to save the world, I mean style.  If only the good things were contagious, wouldn’t life be better?  Since brass was forgotten and left in absence for a long time, it has staged a comeback for over a year now.  It’s been like gold, in the sense that everybody wants a piece of it.  And who wouldn’t?  The gorgeous metal seems to pretty up everything it touches.  Enjoy!

I’m thrilled and happy to see my work featured in the new issue of Rue Magazine.  It’s always so rewarding and encouraging to see when a lot of work and effort pays off.  Thank you Crystal and thank you Julia Millay Walsh for the fun interview.

This coming Wednesday is that day again in New York City where you can eat free Macarons across the City.  Tee initiative was created in 2010 by  François Payard, chef and owner of FP Patisserie and François Payard Bakery in New York.  I’m not in New York but a few months before we got here the first Laduree was opened in Sao Paulo and lucky for me Macarons are gluten-free.  I’m not sure if Laduree is participating but for more information go here.  Enjoy!

If you have been on the popular page of Instagram then you have seen her pretty face many times.  I came across Negin Mirsalehi that way as well and I’ve being following her ever since and then I found out she has a blog.  In her blog which has her name, she is not afraid to share her beauty secrets with her readers and inspire us all with her everyday put together outfits.  I love not only her sense of style where she combines high and low fashion effortlessly but also how pretty and sweet she looks in her pictures and in her interactions with her readers.   Negin says that fashion is an expression of how she feels each day.  “One day I wake up and I feel very feminine wearing a dress and the other day I love a distressed pair of jeans, an over-sized sweater and some biker boots. I also love mixing styles, so for instance feminine and edgy (I love to wear complete black outfits, so simple yet
sophisticated)”.   She started her blog as a way to communicate better with her followers.  Check it out!

 Everything here is simply fabulous.
