Month: April 2014

Turkish breakfast is healthy.  It consists of tomatoes, feta cheese, olives, yogurt, jam, cucumber, usually boiled eggs and the traditional ‘pide’ bread.  There is also the Turkish One Pan Eggs which is mostly for Brunch kind of day.  Whenever we make them we like to keep it simple on ingredients seeing that these eggs can get quite fancy and laborious.  Since today is a holiday in Brazil we decided to make these yummy eggs and enjoy them with the little one.  If you’ve never tried them you should as they are deliciously crunchy.  This is how easy they are to make.

You’ll need:

Cast Iron pan
PAM Spray
Sausage (traditionally ‘Sucuk’)
Presunto (traditionally Pastrami)
Tomatoes
Eggs, ‘duh..
Salt to taste

Cooking Method:  Add the ingredients to the pan in the order listed above, cover the pan until eggs are cooked to your like.

A Vignette in Interior Design is a small grouping of beautifully and carefully arrangements of items.  A vignette could be a sitting area or a table top setting assembled in a pleasant and personal way to create a desired result – aesthetically speaking.  Some people are masters at creating vignettes that are as inspiring as they are purposeful.  One of those people is Kara Rosenlund from Australia.  She creates beautiful arrangements that always carry a theme, a story or some reference.  Here are a few of the images that have caught my eye in her Instagram feed.  Enjoy!

This morning I received a very sad news of a mother of two beautiful girls passing away last night.  She couldn’t have prevented the aneurysm and sadly there is a family heart broken today.  This kinds of events are unfortunately little reminders that life is way too short and more so when we live always rushing, always with a what-now mentality and more often than not forgetting about living in the moment and appreciating the things we have in life.  I love the quote I posted on Sunday because it contains everything there is to be happy.  Enjoy the moment, the family and don’t try to change what’s unchangeable because life is too short.

Jenna Lyons's Brooklyn Brownstone, living room with rifeplace and masculine leather sofas after via belle vivir blog

I’m sure everybody who reads Interior Design blogs have seen Jenna Lyons’s Brooklyn Brownstone.  Jenna is J Crew’s Creative Director and her Brooklyn Heights apartment is probably the most blogged about ever.  It graced the cover of Domino Magazine more than once and the yellow sofa over the Moroccan rug and the black bedroom were one of the few unique design elements in Jenna’s home that kept many yearning for more and replicating them over and over again.  The apartment was put up for sale soon after Jenna’s divorce leading to a bidding war probably due to the Brownstone popularity.  The couple winning the bid was Tracy Martin and Vince Clarke, both in the music industry.  The new owners enlisted the help of the Interior Design firm Roman and Williams to create a home that reflects their own lifestyle and aesthetics.  The result is a maximalist brownstone that seems to have been there for a long time.  A much mature version of its kind.
