A combination of All American Modern and Scandinavian design is found in this Estate located in The Hamptons, designed by Tamara Magel.  The estate that has 11 bedrooms and 13 baths sits on a 23-acre lot along the Hedges Lane.  The design has the best modern living has to offer, for those who appreciate modern design… Natural materials, cozy furniture, lots of light and an excellent selection of contemporary art… The final result in this state is a laid-back atmosphere with modern amenities…

The cool days are here, although don’t put your money on it. If Fall weather is anything, that is unpredictable. Unquestionably the seasons for sandals and open shoes went into hibernation and since Autumn is such a cozy and pretty season, I believe our feet attire should rise to the occasion. Bring on the velvet boots and bring them in color because basic is just that, basic. Also why not match our shoes to the Fall colorful trees… There are a zillion of colorful velvet boots to choose from, from high heels to low heels, from pink to blue… Here’s a roundup of colorful velvet boots to make it easier on you…

Lauren Santo Domingo, Co-Founder of Moda Operandi is a lady of many hats.  Stylish socialite, fashion business woman, co-founder of Moda Operandi and contributing editor to American Vogue.  One of the things I admire the most about Santo Domingo, is her originality when it comes to fashion choices.  You may say, well she has all the money in the world to do that but if you pay attention money doesn’t buy good taste, to say the least.  I follow Lauren Santo Domingo Instagram and I laughed at her simple but clear previous bio profile  “Why be boring…”  She recently changed it.

The native New Yorker began her fashion career as an assistant at American Vogue.  Then Santo Domingo became the PR director for Paris-based furrier J.Mendel, where she helped launch the brand’s ready-to-wear collection, working for Barcelona based Puig Group she served as lead of the PR department of Carolina Herrera.  Then managing editor and then contributing editor for Vogue.  Her most recent innovative project, which most fashion aficionados know, is the luxury e-site Moda Operandi which she co-founded in 2010 in collaboration with former Gilt Groupe executive Aslaug Magnusdottir.  This ingenious new way of shopping “allowes avid shoppers to pre-order a select edit of catwalk looks directly after they ware presented during fashion week through a series of online trunk shows, turning a six-month wait into an exciting ‘buy-now’ experience” BOF.  The site is a great platform to new up and coming designers, which I love very much.

Reed and Delphine Krakoff’s Connecticut home is a great interpretation of what chic is all about.  The Krakoff’s design aesthetic is usually represented via exceptional art, collectable decorative items, comfortable furniture and great craftsmanship.  The very stylish couple also have a penchant for houses with pedigree.  One of their homes is the Long Island home once owned by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s Bouvier grandparents.  Their latest purchase is a estate in New Canaan, Connecticut that used to belong to heiress Huguette Clark.  Huguette purchased the house as a place to escape in case of a Nuclear War.  She never lived in the house and it was kept empty until the Krakoff purchased it after she passed away.  The French-style house, known as Le Beau Chateau, was in great shape but the Krakoff made a few changes to put their own chic stamp.  The 52-acre estate has nine bedrooms and eleven fireplaces and even when the Krakoff didn’t go overboard decorating it, the interiors look spare but elegant, traditional but chic and very Frenchy…  The honed chevron floors throughout the house are just my cup of tea…  and the massive library is an absolute dream.
