I can’t believe October is here already and we are still experiencing warm days… Just last week we had days with temperatures in the 90’s… Although this weekend the fall weather is catching up with us.  I rather that to global warming… As it’s the norm in the cultural world, the colder the days the more museums exhibitions there are.  So this month is pretty booked with exhibitions especially Fashion ones.  Please read on…

yves saint laurent museum in paris

The Musse Yves Saint Laurent  Paris will open in an elegant 19th Century mansion in the city of light on October 3.  The Musse Yves Saint Laurent Marrakesh will follow soon this month…  The planning, design and execution of both museums took more than a decade.  The museum in Paris will exhibit Mr. Saint Laurent’s couture, including iconic pieces as the 1965 Mondrian dress and many other legendary pieces.  The fabulous Interior Designer Jacques Grange partnered the renowned exhibition-set designer Nathalie Crinière to refresh the decor of the galleries.  Jacques Grange had decorated the couture house in the 1980s.

Musee Marmottan Monet  Through January 14, 2018

Monet-collection

Monet wasn’t only one of the most famous of the Impressionist painters, he was also a great collector.  For the first time The Musee Marmottan Monet is having an exhibition of his other private passion, including works from Boudin, Renoir, Cezanne, Rodin and many others.  From paintings, drawings and sculptures. This impressive collection was possible thanks to the support of the most important museums and prestigious collections.

New York

Louis Bougeois: An Unfolding Portrait at MoMa Through January 28, 2018

The Museum of Modern Art.  Bringing together some 300 works, the exhibition celebrates the MoMa’s archive of Bourgeois prints.  The exhibitions explore the prints, books, and creative process of the celebrated sculptor Louise Bourgeois (1911–2010). Bourgeois’s printed oeuvre, a little-known aspect of her work, is vast in scope and comprises 1,200 printed compositions, created primarily in the last two decades of her life but also at the beginning of her career, in the 1940s.

Items: Is Fashion Modern at the MoMa Through January 28, 2018

Items: Is Fashion Modern is MoMa’s first fashion exhibition since 1944.  The exhibit will examine the context of 100 years worth of design history covering everything from the mid-century clothing that resulted from World War II to the way contemporary clothing is designed, worn, and manufactured.

More exhibition still happening here.
