We’ve been driving south for a week now.  Our first stop was in Charleston, then Savannah and now we are in Palm Beach.  Yes, we need to learn to take shorter vacations.  When driving around PB we saw many mansions that reminded me of this home designed by David Kleinberg which I posted two years ago.  Enjoy and I’ll be back to post regularly once back home.  Hope you are enjoying the summer.

David Kleinberg Design in Palm Beach dining room

This Spanish Style home in Palm Beach, designed by David Kleinberg exudes a modern sophistication rooted in the classics that stands the test of time.  Traditional coffered ceilings take a modern turn with geometric shapes in cypress wood, in many of the graciously spacious rooms, traditional line furniture get an up-to-date feeling with shimmery and leather upholstery fabrics. David Kleinberg’s design has a great modern take on traditional Interior Design and I always get very excited to see his work.  David has worked with these clients before, so many of the furniture fit seamlessly in this new home.  There are many reasons why working with an Interior Designer is a good idea and choosing the right furniture that can be passed on though generations is one of them.  David redid the entryway by replacing the iron railing and honing the limestone floor.  The entry of this Palm Beach estate is actually my favorite part of the house for its modern interpretation of classic elements.

The entry way is a spectacular showstopper.  The graphic floor in geometry shapes is a master piece.

We often talk about different interior design styles like transitional, traditional, modern and so on or sometimes we even pop questions such as What makes a home chic?… But there is a distinct design aesthetic that stands alone on its own where every piece of furniture and object from different styles and times fits in harmoniously to create the perfect comfortable and elegant home.  That is called a Collected-Home.  When I think of this ideal approach, the first designer who comes to mind is Jacques Grange.  He is a master at designing homes that appear to have been decorated throughout a lifetime of sophisticated good living.  A Collected-home suggests its owner has had a life well lived, is an avid traveler and collector, has a independent mind with a personality of her own.  These homes never look intentionally decorated, rather they look as a result of an accumulation of cherished objects, inherited valuable furniture and invested artwork chosen out of pure love by the family members…  This is a style for those whose eyes have traveled enough to appreciate the beauty of a distinctly aesthetic which speaks for the story of its owner.  Below are 17 collected rooms that shows us what makes a home collected.
