In my pursuit for images of Black and White Interiors I remembered this stunning home decorated in this timeless elegant hue combination. The owners love black and white decor hence their Architect design a home with the stunning backdrop of white walls, high lacquered black floors, black curtains bedecked with splashes of gold, gray and dark brown. The choice of a black-and-white palette for the decor of this house enhances the architecture while the mixture of modern and classic furniture brings in a touch of classic modernism.

If there is a design style that truly reveals its owner’s sense of fashion then it is the Boho style. Be it in Interiors or Fashion. The reason that Bohemian style is so genuine is because it portrays a sensitivity of freedom in an unpretentious way, but only showing a well-lived life. Of course the aesthetic result goes both ways. The worst being a disaster if the person living

I appreciate Interior Designers like Julie Hillman with a strong sense of individualism and distinctiveness in their work. This monochromatic apartment in NYC’s Meatpacking District reflects an aesthetic of subtle colors with an aura of glamour without being overly flashy. The combination of dark rustic wood on the floor, Lindsey Adelman branching bubble Chandelier with softer touches as the shaggy rug and clear white curtains make the design on the living room, top image, very soothing. Every Home Should Have: Fireplace

If you are building, remodeling or designing a home, consider adding a fireplace to create a permanent character and focal point to any room. If you happen to live in a warm weather country or the house you are living in doesn’t have the structure for a functional one, a fireplace mantel could be a smart alternative and there are so many design options to choose from. From traditional and elaborate designs with a lot of charm as in the French Apartment in the top image to more modern and sculptural ones as in the one designed by David Collins.
