Attic rooms can be difficult to get right sometimes due to how tight the spaces tend to be. Pointed ceilings can be overpowering, making the whole process even harder. Of course all these rooms are a lot bigger than most regular attics but they make for great examples of how fantastic an attic room can look. All these spaces have in common light colored ceilings that make them soothing and beautiful with precisely the right amount of furniture. Jordana Brewster’s home (third from top) via In Style Magazine shows a great use of space by keeping the furniture slick and to a minimum. Enjoy!
Love this simply yet practical way of organizing shoes and glasses. Very clever and chic via Covet Garden.
Fauteuil, a term not often used, refers to a French chair with under armrest open. It usually has a patting on the armrest for comfort and it was mostly used in England where comfort first became more important than aesthetics compared to France. Below, a few modern versions of Fauteuils.
If I’m asked what my favorite movie is when it comes to fashion, I would definitely have to say “I am Love”. For someone who puts comfort in the forefront, wearing clothes with simple lines and not too many puffy or stuffy pleating- for me and nothing too tight, thank you very much, is a must. Tilda Swinton who also was one of the producers of the film, was dressed in the most immaculate and elegant, yet comfortable way possible. Of course you could not expect anything less from a movie where women’s costumes were designed by a collaboration between costume designer Antonella Cannarozzi, who was nominated for an Oscar for her work in this movie, and Raf Simons for Jil Sander. I’ve absolutely loved each and every outfit all the ladies wore in this film. Below is how I would re-create the look.
3.1 Phillip Lim tie front blouse, Michael Kors wool skinny pants, Pedro Ibiza satin ballerina, Dolce & Gabbana crochet bag, Sunglasses, Crystal heart drop earrings, Mac Jacobs Anna Maria top, soft pleated skirt, Lanvin strap pumps, Fendi peekaboo bag, Miu miu leather pee toes, Charles Anastase dress, Romanski bracelets, Clutch.
Wonderful places like the shores, architecture, valleys, skylines, gardens, all those sort of open spaces make me feel and remind me of a greater and more higher source. I know that many of us feel the same. These images of a lovely and charming English country house with a late Georgian architecture surrounded by beds of lavender and vegetable patches sounds like a perfect place to go and unwind. Don’t you?
