Month: March 2012

You may remember Sig Bergamin’s beautiful work when his beach house was featured, not long ago, in Elle Decor.  His beach home had a mélange of different textiles and patterns from many places around the world that he boldly mixed with blue and white Chinese ceramics, African artifacts and other curiosities he had collected during his travels.  All put together with a very relaxed feel.   I’ll be visiting Sao Paulo soon, and I’m seeing a lot of homes that have been featured in different magazine lately that make me curious to see what I’ll find while I’m there.  I visited Sig Birgamin’s website and I was smitten.  Below why. Guy de Rougemont table

When the lovely Diane de Polignac introduced me to The golden clover table designed by Guy de Rougemont, above, at The Young Collectors Night in January, I almost flipped out.  To my defense, I think this is one of the chicest tables out there.  Diane told me that this is part of a limited edition of 8 signed and numbered by the Artist, for the Gallery, which is located in Paris.
Rougemont stated: “I am a painter: my sculpture and furniture are those of a painter”  but he is the kind of artist who has broken the boundaries of art, he does everything that’s design-related from porcelain to carpet, to sculpture and even films.  He is a designer extraordinaire.

Below, are a few images of his famous Nuage Table designed in 1971 and if it looks familiar to those who have visited Mark Bar at The Mark Hotel in New York City is because he created it, commissioned by Jacques Grange, see the last two images.  Enjoy the chicness!

The bar is more than breath taking with the bar created by Rougemont and furniture by Vladimir Kagan.  If you’re in New York City, go and pay a visit and experience it by yourself.

 Amanda Brooks

I’ve never been a fan of very short hair, like Pink, nor of very long hair, like Kim Kardashian.   Every time I try to let it grow long, I get board and because hair gets so heavy it gets hard to stylize it.  As a result hair lacks bounce and its natural look.  Medium length hair, besides being all the rage now a days it’s very feminine and modern.  Parisian women have been waring this style for like ever and no wonder, it matches their modern and free spirited personalities like no other.  One of my all time favorite ladies wearing medium length hair is Amanda Brooks, love her soft curls and perfect length.  Below some fabulous ladies rocking their hairs.
