slouchy leather pants via belle vivir blog

 Janice Alida

Here in Sao Paulo, the Fall season is starting to approach slowly whereas up-north, Spring is approaching.  The mornings are becoming a bit chilly and the sun is retiring a bit earlier.  I kept yearning for full bright sunny days but I was told this summer was a bit different from the previous ones so I hope next year will be hotter and sunnier.  One great thing about Sao Paulo weather is that we actually get to feel all different seasons without the extreme.  These coming days, for instance, I’m looking forward to wearing fall season clothes and be able to wear all the cool outfits that we can wear during Autumn.  Especially a cool pair of slouchy leather pants.  Enjoy!

every home should have a beautiful hallway jean louis denoit hallway with marble on the walls via belle vivir blog
Above, Jean Louis Denoit’s hallway featuring a modern photograph and a brass bench.
Hallways are sadly and commonly overlooked.  People walk by without even realizing that this long and sometimes narrow space is a branch of their homes therefore it’s part of what encompasses your mood, daily.  That is one of the reason why every home should have a beautiful hallway.  Obviously not all hallways are like these ones featured here which have floor to ceiling windows or glass exit door with natural light exposure.  As dark as the hallways may be, the most important thing to tackle is lighting and in this particular area of the house overhead lighting illuminates better.  Simple steps such as painting the walls in an interesting color or maybe even stripes, hanging art or mirrors on the walls, put an area rug ( just remember to apply double sided tape underneath for security) can make a big difference to a space we use so often.  Enjoy!

I’m back at it!  It’s double-checked that I can’t get tired at wearing them, painting them and/or looking at them, stripes that is!  Have I ever posted about how chic and prominent they are?  Probably a million times by now… and I know there is still more to come because stripes is for sure the chicest of the classics.  Enjoy!

Ignacio Garcia de Vinuesa design living room via belle vivir
I vote for the use of modern furniture and art in homes with ornate architecture.

The first concern for Ignacio Garcia de Vinuesa in redecorating this house was to preserve the beauty and ornate architectural details.  To not touch its essence.  Ignacio and Elisa Rodriguez whom is part of his studio, were determined on maintaining the ornate crown moldings, tall ceilings and wood work in this home to then decorate it with modern art and comfortable and beautiful furniture.  They also reused the beautiful old doors after changing the entire layout of the house.  In a complete transformation the result is what I call a very “Chic Home” with a touch of that young feel that I so much love.  Enjoy!

That top is my cup of tea.  Actually the entire outfit is.

The jewel tones, intrinsic patterns and line cuts in J.Crew Fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection kept me yearning for Fall fashion.  I really can wear each and every one of their assemblage.  According to Style.com, designer Tom Mora, the mastermind behind J.Crew Womenswear was inspired by a trip to Marrakech.  I love how subtle and sophisticated his translation of Moroccan exotic design was weaved into J.Crew’s classic lines.
Can we talk about that jacket?  Wow
The mix of pattern in this outfit is beautiful.
I love everything here as well.  From the pants, the pup of color and
the side track pants.
I love the styling  here.  Oversized top and scarf with a floral pencil skirt.  And of course the baseball cap is lovely too.
The cropped pants with the booties look cool.

 Stunning fur coat
Christine Centenera is the fashion editor of Harper’s Bazzaar Australia and is my top style icon, so far.  There is an automatic *sigh* that comes out of me every time I look at a picture of her rocking one of those perfect outfits.  Her fashion sense is feminine, edgy, modern and a bit futuristic at the same time.  Only her shoes by themselves deserve a trophy.  Judge by yourself!
