Month: June 2013

Fortunately enough, this post title is not literally.
It strictly refers to the color yellow which seems to be a color that many
people don’t like or either are afraid to use.  If I have to make a
comparison yellow should be called the ‘king color’ because of it’s
sunny strength?  What I see is that whenever it is used it brightens
everything else up and it also brings a smile to my face.  Enjoy and have
a sunny weekend!

When I went to Istanbul back in 2010 one of the things I
most admired was the mix of beautiful antique and modern architecture and most
of all the modernity of its people.  I was surprised at how rare was to
come across with someone with conservative world view.  On the contrary
the people were extremely open minded and very Westernised.  I loved it
and it breaks my heart to see what some smart people need to go through to
defend their country’s identity, freedom and democracy. I hope everything
gets back to normal soon and Turkey continues on its road to what every country
is supposed to have: fundamental freedoms.

These beautiful images belong to Karakoy Rooms a hotel overlooking
the bosphorous, I know a dream, eh? and if my in-laws didn’t have an apartment
in Istanbul this is where I would stay.  Enjoy!

There is not one piece of clothing I love
more than a blazer.  I’m constantly drawn to them when shopping and
every time need to remind myself that my wardrobe should consist in
more pieces than only blazers.  I love to wear them with converse and
striped jeans, with below the knee skirts, with shorts, you name it.
There is no more versatile piece of clothing than a good constructed
blazer.  Enjoy!

The team behind Plattdana Architects, a New York City-based architectural firm is about to change your mind!  That is if you think that modern design is not capable of being classic and cozy at the same time.  Hope Dana and Kate Platt are the principal architects of the firm and their main goal is to achieve homes with a classic and modern mix.  This duplex located in the Flat Iron neighborhood of New York City was remodeled and designed by Plattdana Architects, where everything from the herringbone floors to the seagrass wallpaper covering the walls in the library are only a few of their brilliant touches to accomplish a cozy and warm modern home.  Enjoy!
