A Sophisticated Country Home Calm And Collected

If you thought that every country home is rustic and unrefined, this sophisticated home located in Washington, Connecticut will change your mind.

The beautiful country home belongs to Brett and Greg Heyman.  Brett Hayman is the founder of the handbag and accessories brand, Edie Parker.  The six-bedroom house is set amid 15 acres, apple orchards, and a pond.  A pretty pleasant weekend escape for a family to flee from the hustle of the City.

Mark Cunningham was in charge of the interior design “it was all about pulling together interesting pieces,” Mark.  The main priority of the family was to find the time to spend more quality family time.  “Right now we want the children to know how nature works. Not in an extreme live-off-the-land way, but in a more matter-of-fact way. If we were in the city on weekends, we would go to museums. Here, nature is our museum.”  Brett Heyman.

Love the different textures employed in the living room where two sofas are placed back to back as to create two separate sitting areas.  The floor to ceiling windows and doors bring lots of light in.
