I love receiving coffee table books as gifts as well as gifting them myself.  Not only do they help us expand our horizons and give us endless inspiration but they also fill us with knowledge and new perspectives.  Some of them are so beautifully designed that they end up enhancing the overall decor in the room.  Whether you are looking to grow your collection or for the right gift for a host, we’ve assembled a good selection of our favorite and latest coffee table books for everyone from avid travelers to design lovers.

I’ve always wanted to have a swimming pool in my backyard.  So far the closest we are getting is to becoming a member of the country club which is literally across our home.  I’m looking forward to enjoying those hot afternoons alongside the pool while sipping or not a few cocktails.  Eventually, though We may or may not build a swimming pool in our backyard, which hopefully will be surrounded by tall cypress trees, white roses or hydrangeas and maybe one big climbing bougainvillea.  I just realized that I described the South of France.  In the meantime, it’s always a good idea to keep some inspiration for future additions. Here are nine dreamy swimming pool to inspire us.

Paris bistro Le Chardenoux is located in the 11th arrondissement, an area known for its gourmet restaurants and hip bars.  The stunning restaurant Le Chardenoux is the latest acquisition of Chef Cyril Lignac who hired Martin Brudnizski to give it a fresh decor; Martin is the designer behind the fashionable London club Annabel’s.  The bistro features beautiful belle epoque influences with wall mirrors, perfect moldings, a stunning hand painted ceiling, red velvet banquets, brass lighting, and Laduree-like green walls.

one dress three ways

Lately, I’ve been searching for a dress for an evening event when I realized that I have a bunch of them in my closet.  From cocktail dresses to evening ones and it’s perfectly ok to wear them more than once.  Besides many of the clothes we buy that we wear for public events, we end up not taking them out of the closets as often as we’d like.  That’s a waste.  That made me think how great it would be if we got to style the same frock for different occasions.  Here are three different looks using the same dress that will give you the power to go from work to cocktail hour to even brunch.  One dress three ways which you can also accessorize with some of these well-priced shoes.

Today is a very exciting and busy day.  We are starting to set up the room for the Showcase.   As I mentioned before here, I’m participating in the Designer Showcase at the Columbus Museum of Art.  You can read all about it and buy your tickets here.  Since I don’t have much time, I’m reposting this yummy home originally posted in 2012.  Yes, that’s how old this blog is.

Pablo Paniagua and his Studio team designed this beautiful home in Malaga, Spain. They were in charge of almost everything from the architecture to the design and designing of furniture. All done with the very important goal of reaching a harmonious result. I love how the dark colors stand out on the white background. Enjoy!
