Who wouldn’t love to have a stone house in the country with climbing roses and charming interiors? There is something incredibly charming and enduring about English country style, and this house in the Cotswolds designed by Joana Wood is entirely English but with a contemporary twist. On this more contemporary version of English country house style, we can find more solid fabrics instead of chintz, bare tables instead of draped ones and exposed furniture legs instead of skirted upholstery yet it still feels classic and livable.
The paneled living room has an understated, English decor. Curtains and balloon shades are the same color as the walls while the upholstery consists of mostly pinks, beiges, and browns.
Antique green leaf plates are displayed on the tall chimney wall above the black Aga stove.
The kitchen has stone walls, double-height ceiling beams, and a modern hunter green banquette. The prominent pendant light fixture is by Constance Guisset.
On the top left photo, the curved headboard echoes the window balance. The more feminine and beautiful bathroom has a flowery pink wallpaper, freestanding tub, and mirror vanity sink.
Love the dark pink of the x-frame chairs and the decorative wall antlers.
