There is no way that one Christmas will pass by without our traditional Christmas in Europe post. For the third year in a row this has become a tradition which is in the end what Christmas is all about; Tradition among unity, hope, happiness, and joy. I hope you are enjoying your preparations and excitement this season brings in the meantime get inspired by these images of an enchanted European Christmas.
Is it just me, or is there something amazingly and overwhelmingly happy in the Christmas spirit? We just came back from our son’s School Christmas presentation, and it was nothing short of watching angels singing Christmas carols. As a designer, I can appreciate the importance of the visual, but when it comes to Christmas, I think that what you listen to is as equal if not more important than what you look at. Christmas kettles on the streets of New York city, 106.7 repertoires of Christmas songs all day long while watching the snow coming down, the sound of chestnuts roasting on the fire, all those experiences would not evoke the same sentiment within us if there were silence. There is no music in this post, but there are a bunch of beautiful Christmas decoration images for those of you who are still in the process of decorating and seeking inspiration for your Holiday decor. Enjoy!
And here we go again with a good dose of decor for the most beautiful time of the year. I personally prefer a more colorful version of Christmas decor but I have to admit that all these images here are pretty alluring and inspiring. This year we are not doing any decorating for the season, unfortunately. Evidence that not because you love it does it mean you got to have it. In our case and on my defense we are going to be traveling for the Holiday. I only hope the Hotels would treat us with some really good decorations. I look forward to seeing them. And for now here a selection of White Christmas decor.
Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope this year is the year you accomplish each and every one of your dreams and plans. I’ve been traveling with the family for the past week and haven’t been able to pay proper attention to the blog. We’ll be traveling next week as well but, after that we’ll be back on regular schedule. 🙂 Until then enjoy every minute of your days.
xoxo,
Julie

I did this post last year and since so many people loved it as much as I did, that gives me an excellent excuse to post it again today. If you are a frequent visitor of Belle Vivir, you should know by now my obsession with Christmas. As a matter of fact my Facebook bio for more than 6 years reads “In love with my family and Christmas” and that hasn’t changed a bit. Enjoy!
I’ve never spent Christmas in Europe, yet. Undoubtedly Christmas is warm and inviting everywhere but there is a certain special warmth in Europe during this time that it’s not found anywhere else. Perhaps it’s because Santa Clause is in Northern Europe somewhere? and so the feeling of Christmas is more palpable? Or, maybe it’s because of the way the homes are built, of solid stone and stucco that make the ambiance of Christmas feel cozier. I definitely would like to spend Christmas in Europe one day and these images just make my wish stronger.
