I love Giorgia Tordini’s style, well tha’s me together with 127+ instagramers who stalk her impeccably polished looks.  Originally from Italy, she was born in Milan, her fashion style is timeless with clean silhouettes, a bit masculine without unnecessary fanfare.  Her style is sleek, classic and discrete resulting in effortless classic looks.  Her beauty routine also shows signs of effortless beauty; little make up which she doesn’t need with such beautiful skin, perfect hair style and nails painted in red.  Giorgia is the designer and co-founder, together with her sister, of the fashion label, The Attico.  She is always perfectly dressed to the T, choosing outfits that can be easily transitioned into evening ones.  Tordini has a knack for chic jewelry, especially vintage which she collects.

‘I don’t have specific style rules, but I like to buy timeless pieces that I’ll never tire of. My staples are blazers and skinny jeans, so most of the time I stick to this combination. My style is pretty classic, but never predictable – I like to accessorise with special jewellery or a pair of statement shoes.’  as she told Matches Fashion.

The cool days are here, although don’t put your money on it. If Fall weather is anything, that is unpredictable. Unquestionably the seasons for sandals and open shoes went into hibernation and since Autumn is such a cozy and pretty season, I believe our feet attire should rise to the occasion. Bring on the velvet boots and bring them in color because basic is just that, basic. Also why not match our shoes to the Fall colorful trees… There are a zillion of colorful velvet boots to choose from, from high heels to low heels, from pink to blue… Here’s a roundup of colorful velvet boots to make it easier on you…

Lauren Santo Domingo, Co-Founder of Moda Operandi is a lady of many hats.  Stylish socialite, fashion business woman, co-founder of Moda Operandi and contributing editor to American Vogue.  One of the things I admire the most about Santo Domingo, is her originality when it comes to fashion choices.  You may say, well she has all the money in the world to do that but if you pay attention money doesn’t buy good taste, to say the least.  I follow Lauren Santo Domingo Instagram and I laughed at her simple but clear previous bio profile  “Why be boring…”  She recently changed it.

Lauren Santo Domingo, Co-founder of Moda Operandi - belle vivir

The native New Yorker began her fashion career as an assistant at American Vogue.  Then Santo Domingo became the PR director for Paris-based furrier J.Mendel, where she helped launch the brand’s ready-to-wear collection, working for Barcelona based Puig Group she served as lead of the PR department of Carolina Herrera.  Then managing editor and then contributing editor for Vogue.  Her most recent innovative project, which most fashion aficionados know, is the luxury e-site Moda Operandi which she co-founded in 2010 in collaboration with former Gilt Groupe executive Aslaug Magnusdottir.  This ingenious new way of shopping “allowes avid shoppers to pre-order a select edit of catwalk looks directly after they ware presented during fashion week through a series of online trunk shows, turning a six-month wait into an exciting ‘buy-now’ experience” BOF.  The site is a great platform to new up and coming designers, which I love very much.

According to Wikipedia, the belt bag is also referred to as a “fanny pack” (American English) or “bum bag” (British English).  It is a small fabric pouch usually secured with a zipper and worn by a strap around the hips or waist”  Yes and we all remember that from the 90’s.  But even when the thought of such fashion coming back make some roll their eyes until they can see their brains… it’s happening.  And we should thank Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele and its reinvention of the granny-chic style…

If you think that the thought of wearing one again would be scary wait until you know that belt bags designed for concealed carry of a weapon are available.  Another thing to watch out for… as if there wasn’t enough…

But not all is lost, there are a few belt bags that you may want to give it a try, like the Saint Laurent Bum Belt Bag which sits tight to your body.  If you feel like you want to dance all night without attending a bag, Prada quilted convertible belt bag is also a good alternative.  On the other hand, the Chanel Black Quilted Lambskin Belt Bag is actually a classic chic item to have… Since this style can be a bit hard to pull off I think it’s best to leave it to professionals or in this case to renowned Fashion brands.

With each day the trees are turning more colorful… the days get shorter and the sun comes out later… Perhaps it’s a little bit unnerving the fact that during Fall weather not every day is guaranteed to be sweater weather… One moment is cold and the next hour is sunny and warm…

It may sound so trivial to call Princess Diana a Style Icon when you compare that to her most significant legacy, which in the opinion of many, was one of kindness, true love, compassion, tolerance and sacrifice.  Above all she was a great mother and her devotion and love for her children and personal suffering may have set the course for the more relaxed and down to earth royal family atmosphere today.  I remember my mom telling me how much she was criticized during Prince William’s Christening for comforting her son by letting him suckle her pinky finger.  Yes, the world can be that ridiculous sometimes… I still remember the shocking feeling the night Diana died and I how that year we lost so many luminary figures that were a source of great light, Mother Teresa, Gianni Versace, Willem De Kooning and others.  Some people believe that when great people die they become stars that shine upon this earth in difficult moments.  I just hope that is not the case because judging by these dark days, that would mean losing a lot of the good ones.  And we can’t afford that right now.
