I want to officially thank God for Spring. The days are brighter, the temperatures are more forgiving, and soon me and my family will start biking again. I’ve been slow posting lately due to a very nagging headache that doesn’t want to leave my pretty head. It’s been especially challenging this time because it’s not gluten related, yet no one can come up with an answer.

Either way, I’m extremely excited for Spring and for my participation in this year’s Columbus Museum of Art Designer Showcase, more about that on another post. If you live in the Columbus area, I hope you can visit the Showcase and get to see all the creative spaces that me and a group of talented local designers are creating for your delight.  For today, let’s just focus on this selection of perfect looking mules and slides for Spring.  Let’s get our pedicure done ladies because Spring is approaching.

I know that trends are easier to adapt when it’s about fashion.  Maybe because it’s an easy fix when we don’t like how it looks on us.  After observing the Spring 2019 runways I found these five top trends to be consistently present in many of them.

Audrey Hepburn in oversized coat

I get it, a streamlined look can look polished and put together, but most of the time they don’t provide that effortlessly chic look we all crave. Sometimes wearing fitted suits and coats may look like a result of extra effort, instead of a natural one and it may feel too stiff. An oversized coat will save you from looking too rigid, but mostly it will grant you the flexibility to wear that fitted blazer underneath. If you’re on the shorter side, try a mid-length coat and if you are on the heavier side, try one with a belt.

I just got back from Istanbul two nights ago, and I’m swamped with work, there is a lot I have to catch up with.  So this post will be shorter than usual.  I always like to get myself one or two cashmere sweaters for the cold weather.  Cashmere is the ideal luxury fabric to keep you warm and comfortably soft in the cold, but the coveted fabric has always been expected to be expensive.  Nowadays, many brands offer quality cashmere at very reasonable prices.  I particularly love Vince cashmere sweaters because besides being soft and of great quality, they are stylish as well.

Brock Collection is a women’s luxury ready-to-wear label founded by Laura Vassar Brock and Kristopher Brock in 2014.  The Los Angeles-based house creates women clothing that is sophisticated, down-to-earth, and just beautiful.  Brock’s Fall 2019 collection had exquisite fabrics and silhouettes such as flower evening dresses, mix and match separates and my favorite part, long tweed dresses, skirts, and jackets.  Part of the collection undoubtedly can remind us of Chanel but with what Brock’s call a “raw romance” and a more modern, down to earth wearable approach.  Scroll down for the look for less.

The weather has been absolutely crazy this past month, from temperatures fluctuating from below zero to over 50s, heavy rain and scary-clouded skies, but I can’t think of anything else than neutral outfits, mostly in light colors.  Colors from camel, navy blue, beige and browns have been swirling in my head.  Whether you prefer to keep the neutral style casual and wear your fashionable sneakers or formal and instead wear a pair of heeled shoes, a traditional neutral outfit will get you through the door.  Accessorising is how you add the chic part to many outfits, so don’t forget to add a good pair of earrings and a good bag for the icing on the cake.
