Button-front skirt is the chicest clothing piece at the moment. Perhaps it’s the retro vibe that speaks to the 70’s fashion-obsessed inside me or the fact that almost every fashion brand has produced one within the past year. From classic mini skirts by Balmain with its recognizable front buttons to the below the knee checked midi skirt with transparent buttons by Balenciaga this Fall, the button-front skirt will give you that polished architectural look we all want sometimes. It’s a fact that button-front skirts are not coming in denim fabric anymore; instead, they come in all kinds of materials and textures that gives us the freedom to use them any time of the year.
Don’t think that ankle boots are ever going away. Ankle boots are as we speak already a classic shoe and a closet staple for every woman. Regardless of our age, we all want to look our best; some follow fashion, others don’t. However, passion for footwear is one common thread among women and booties is on the top of the list for many. Ankle boots are versatile, easy to wear and on occasions, elegant as well. I’ve seen some fashion writers refer to this chic footwear as the ultimate MVP and I have to say, completely agree.
It’s Sweater Roundup time, and it’s time to start thinking about what sweaters to add to our winter clothes repertoire. In this roundup of sweaters, we are suggesting various styles from oversized chunky ones to classic turtlenecks to striped pullovers because we should all have options when it comes to dressing, right? Sweaters are to me in cold weather what dresses are to me in Summer; they facilitate getting dress better than any other piece in our wardrobes. Nothing makes my morning routine easier when getting ready to take my son to school, than putting on a sweater over skinny jeans. It’s a no-brainer, stylish and comfortable. I pair the outfit with an ankle boot for Fall and voila! BTW, a couple of these sweaters from last year are on sale now.
Transitioning your Summer wardrobe into Fall is a bit overwhelming because frankly who wants to let go of our favorite comfortable and relaxed Summer dressing. Fall has tricky weather; some days may be chilly inviting you to cozy up in a chunky sweater while others may still bring some heat with them and all we feel like doing is stay under the AC. The crisp cool Fall weather doesn’t call for tons of layer of heavy wool and fake fur yet, but we can’t solely wear the oh-so-light soft summer outfits either. With this unpredictable kind of weather, it’s crucial to keep the right transitional fashion pieces in our wardrobe to help us transition into Fall weather smoothly.
When it comes to Summer-to-Fall transition pieces, one keynote to keep in mind is to keep those transitional Fall items of lightweight fabric in an Autumn color palette. With the right clothes to keep us comfortable, we can start enjoying all Autumn has to offer, the fall foliage, the pumpkin spice latte, and the crisp air. So before you begin filing away your summer pieces, set your midi skirts and maxi dresses items aside, you’ll still need them. We can’t be more excited about this year’s Fall fashion trends.
Labor Day Weekend is here. This is a long weekend Y’all in which we have the opportunity to wear a few different types of Labor Day outfits in possibly many kinds of occasions. There will be the regular barbecues over at friend’s house, the casual visit to a park, and last but not least a favorite of mine, Sunday brunch. All that is more enjoyable when our outfits are well planned and weekend-ready. On my nearest future of activities, there lies a 7 o’clock Japanese dinner reservation, a Saturday morning gym duty and an afternoon digging out weeds in our backyard, (yuck) and finally a Sunday brunch ending in a German afternoon. Hence I’m starting to start aligning my Labor Day outfits.
The best part of these Labor Day fashion pieces is that many of them you most likely have them already in your closet.
I know many summer people prefer to not think about fall jackets, but it’s better to be early than late. It will be time soon to put our summer dresses, mini skirts and open shoes in the back of our closets. The only consolation to that is the fact that the best part about Fall weather is indeed Fall fashion and more precisely, layering jackets and coats which safeguards us from the cooler temperatures. What’s chicer than an elegant Autumn outfit which consists of skinny wool pants, a pair of chic slouchy boots and an Autumn coat to layer on top…
We already stated last week that one of 2018 Fall trends is inspired in the 80’s fashion. Nonetheless, there are many options for Fall jackets and coats this Fall, from belted jackets, shearling accents, and the forever classic plaid coat.
