5 reasons why you need oversized art via belle vivid blog
Oversized art in a room is a great way to bring in the design details that your home may need.  An over scaled piece of wall art injects immediate architecture, personality and identity to a modern home.  Anything from a modern option like a black and white photograph of a favorite icon to a traditional painting, here are five reasons why you need an oversized art in your home decor.

Crystal chandeliers

Crystal Chandeliers have always been considered feminine and girly hence often the first
choice of a traditional woman when looking for overhead lighting options.  They can make a room look instantly elegant and sophisticated but in most cases can also make a room very feminine and glamorous.  If that’s not the road you want to take, because you share your home with a partner or have a family, don’t panic, you can still have your fabulous crystal chandelier without making the boys in the family feel like they don’t have a saying.  Here is what I would look for if I were in the hunt for a crystal chandelier.  Go for dark metal chandeliers, such as antique black metal, black wrought iron and so on.  Get a chandelier without light bulb shades.  Pair it with a neutral color palette or rustic elements as wood or concrete.  Don’t worry you can still put your peonies on the table.  You both live there.

Black wall painted rooms, black walls in home decor ideas

Painting the walls or an entire room of your home in black may sound scary.  Lately we are seeing more fearless home owners that choose black paint to paint an entire room or one stand along wall.  They are choosing a more daring home decor for their homes.  In modern interior design results are not out of a text book anymore which means that there is no rule when it comes to decorating.  Rules are to be broken they say.  However, there are a few elements to consider when choosing black walls for your home.  Many of the best black rooms I’ve seen share a few decor style elements in common.  Light color floors and furniture, decent amount of incoming light, and contrasting wall art that stand out dramatically against the black walls.  For even a more soothing and cozy ambiance in a room, a black grass cloth wallpaper would be a great option.  A black grass cloth or seagrass wallpaper would create depth and a subtle sheen on the walls.  For a children room decor or for a kitchen design area, a chalkboard wall would be very suitable. Black wall painted rooms is a wonderful way to modernize a space.

I know what you’re thinking: that the party season is over, therefore, this post about beautiful home bars is now useless and unnecessary.  I have to respectfully disagree: now is when many people with unreasonably-set resolutions will need a bar in their homes.  I’m referring to those that soon after the second month start conceiving the idea that it may be impossible to lose 20 pounds in three months.  There are different types of home bars.  The bar cart is still in its heydays, mostly in small cities where space is scarce and it’s important to be able to move things around whenever possible.  Cabinet bars is my favorite option, they provide the choice of encasing everything when not being used.  For grown-ups a.k.a., really serious entertainers and hosts there is the option of wet bars with sinks and everything.

I’m a big fan of displaying collections above a tall sideboard or cabinet.  Besides helping the room look taller it’s also a great space saver.  I collect pottery, more vases than anything else, and I can’t think of any other space where to display them.  Enjoy!
