It’s impossible to not feel our heavy hearts after such a tragedy. This time it happened in Manchester, England at Ariana Grande’s concert.  Parents, family members and friends are suffering the loss of loved ones for absolutely no reason what so ever other
than crazy minded people, who also happen to be big time losers…  I agree on that one.  Sometimes the best way to escape mentally from the chaos is by getting inspired by dreamy scenarios like the Chelsea Flower Show that is currently happening in London.

On another note, today also happens to be my husband’s birthday which is an occasion to celebrate in the middle of disturbance, some level of happiness and hope.  Happy Birthday to my husband, the best man I could’ve ever asked for.  I love you to the moon and back.

We are planning our two weeks long vacation to the South of France and since we are a bit adventurous, but in a low-risk way, no bungee-jumping for us. We are more of leisurely adventurous ones, we spend 2-3 nights in a village then we pack up and move on to another town for a couple of days and then to another one for the last 5-6 days. We just love Provence so much we really want to get the feeling of all these charming little towns and take it all in while there. The first few days will be in Gassin to enjoy the charming beautiful village and also to be just close enough to St. Tropez. Our second stay will be at Uzes for 3 nights where we will be able to drive to Arles and Saint Remy and all those beautiful towns where it doesn’t matter how often we go it’s always amazing. Our last stay will be in Gordes where all we are planning to do is well the same things we will have been doing for the previous week, wandering around, visiting Flea Markets and stopping on our ways for new discoveries. I really can’t wait.  It’s always fun to plan what to pack traveling.  Below, some of my Provence travel essentials.  What to pack for Provence.

This will be our third year in a row spending two weeks of summer in Provence but there is so much we don’t know, so much we would love to show our son and share together that if you guys have any recommendations for us please share.  Do you know of a new restaurant, hot spot or exciting little town?  Please let me know.  I’m a sucker for comfortable clothes especially comfortable pants and dresses, pieces you can intermingle and make traveling easier.  Now, we all know that the South of France can get pretty warm so there will be lots of off-shoulder, ruffles and of course stripes.

A Boater hat is a must for any summer destination, A black asymmetric cold shoulder top for $44 is  perfect for evenings,  This flutter-sleeve top with embroidery trim is super adorable, A Cashmere scarf for the evenings, any of these sundresses will look great under the Provence sun.  Aren’t these espadrilles the cutest and if you are going to Provence you need to take a pair of espadrilles for $119, the classic white pants not bad for $381, in this case, not jeans something with softer fabric, a big woven straw tote to hold the daily purchases, the jeans skirt is classic with a twist and for $30.99 is practically free.

safari outfit options

Ever since I can remember, going on a safari has been in my bucket list.  For some reason it feels like a far place to go.  While living in Munich we contemplated going to South Africa but even that felt a bit of a stretch when it comes to travel time.  It sounds funny when we used to regularly take over 13 hours flight while living in Brazil.  Whenever we decide to stop making up excuses, I would definitely take this awesome looking pants, pair them with this top and these green booties; would not forget my hat and a cross body bag.  For a more fashionable day I would opt for this modern-take-on-safari skirt, combined with this safari style jacket
and these comfortable but stylish booties.  I would carry everything in this Globe trotter suitcase and go here.  Bon voyage.

The Kensington Hotel in London, appears to be more a Parisian apartment than a hotel itself.  Beautiful paneled rooms with parquet floors are found throughout.  Each room and suite is individually designed inside the beautiful regency style building, which is composed of four stucco white-painted facade townhouses  The interiors display a mixture of deep upholstery, sumptuous fabrics, contemporary art, classic furniture and stunning fireplace mantels.  All inside walls with stunning cornices, wall paneling and zigzag parquet floors.

If you are a regular at Instagram then without a doubt you’ve seen the Pink monochromatic restaurant, The Gallery at Sketch, designed by India Mahdavi with artwork from British artist Turner Prize nominee David Shrigley.  Shrigley’s recognizable drawings are also present in Sketch’s original ceramic tableware which can be purchased via the restaurant’s website.  The Restaurant which also functions as a gallery, hence its name, has velvet pink banquets and Mahdavi’s emblematic curvaceous chairs that seem to float over chevron multi-colored tiles.  Reminiscent of the all-time Hollywood glam era, the pink room is accentuated with touches of rose gold throughout.  The mixture of the artwork and the exquisite design makes it a perfect place for Art and Design enthusiasts.

Architect and Designer India Mahdavi’s work is as popular as it gets.  Named by Architectural Digest  as “the reigning queen of color” for her use of bold colors in her projects.  She attributes her boldness to her international upbringing.  She was born in Tehran and raised in America, Germany, and France.  Hotel Thoumieux in Paris is also presenting one of her creations. museum Brandhorst munich

Brandhorst Museum in Munich, Germany is one place to keep in mind the next time you have a long lay over while in route.  Opened in 2009, it holds an impressive private collection of contemporary art, mostly paintings.  Among them, the largest number of Cy Twombly’s work outside the United States and more than 100 exhibits by Andy Warhol.  The museum was possible thanks to the generosity of husband and wife, Udo Fritz-Hermann and Anette Brandhorst who started collecting art in the early 70’s.  After Annette passed away in 1999, her husband Udo donated the amassed collection to the State of Bavaria with the requirement that the state would give the collection a suited home.  Bavaria paid for the modern building designed by Berlin based Sauerbruch Hutto Architects.  The museum built an octagonal room specifically designed to display Cy Twombly’s Lepanto, a painting composed of 12 big canvases created to exhibit during Venice Biennale in 2001.  I also spotted work by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Yves Klein, Christoper Wool and many more amazing artists.  Definitely a must visit.  Enjoy.
