Yesterday my hubby and I were going over our plans for the last trips of the year while researching Cartagena, Colombia, a place I’ve been dying to go to, I came across this amazingly tasteful Hotel Agua Baru in Baru Island, a 45 minutes boat ride off Cartagena city and I was like what…! This amazingly beautiful, stunning, to-die for Hotel is so irresistibly charming that I couldn’t think of anything else to post about today. The entire design and concept of Hotel Agua Baru is so in sync with nature and breath taking that my whole body and mind are itching to go there to breathe in nature at its best and surround myself of beautiful design, just how I like it. We all love places that make us happy and uplift our spirits I’m sure this one is going to be one of them! To see more of this idyllic hotel go here.
Can I just say how much I appreciate the magical touch in Woody Allen movies. We went to see To Rome With Love late last night and even though I enjoyed every scene and vision watching the beautiful Italian architectures and ruins, it was probably not the best of the ideas. It just made my yearn for Italy a lot more profound. Whenever we go I need to pay a visit to Palazzo Margherita, owned by Francis Ford Coppola, located in an unconventional town called Bernalda. The Hotel was designed by Jacques Grange, another reason for me to visit it, and it’s authentically old school Italian. It’s not in a very touristic town. This is a place more in tune for people who want to experience the real Italian small town life, but even if there is not much to do, I would be perfectly content drinking Vermentino by the pool or simply walking around the town and enjoying the beautiful medieval hilltops.
Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, the Mandarin Oriental’s first luxury hotel in Southern Europe located in the chic and central boulevard of Passeig de Gràcia, conveniently close to many of Barcelona ‘s shopping and dining venues. I thought it would be only good to see some pictures of its beautiful interior. The 120 rooms and suites hotel offers a spa and five restaurants and bars.
The Mandarine Oriental Barcelona was named “Best City Hotel in 2011 by Tatler Travel Guide. This elegant building that previously used to house a bank comes alive with a full revival and beautiful interior design by Spanish designer, Patricia Urquiola. Urquiola is a Spanian designer who lives and works in Milan, Italy. She has been named “Designer of the decade for the German magazines “Home” and “Hauser”. See more of this beautiful hotel on their website. An exceptional hotel for the descriminating tourists.
Crosby Street Hotel in NYC is everything but conventional. As owners, Tim and Kit Kemp the proprietors of Firmdale Hotels, believe that “hotels should be living things, not stuffy institutions.” I totally agree with them. Kit Kemp designed all of the interiors in a cozy English style with an impressive art collection that says “welcome home”. No wonder she was awarded the Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year for 2008. Crosby Street Hotel in situated on a quiet cobbled street in the heart of New York’s vibrant SoHo neighborhood with 86 bedrooms and suites.
Every time I see Spanish Colonial Architecture, I can’t help but be immediately drawn to it. No need to mention that the next time I’m in Puerto Rico, El Convento is the place I’ll stay. No question about it. The building housing this effulgent Boutique Hotel was built in 1646, an order of King Phillip IV to serve as a Carmelite convent, hence its very eccentric name.
I can’t tell you enough how I would enjoy setting in this terrace while reading a book with the breeze caressing my hair. Oh, I need some of that so much…
This suite was named after Gloria Vanderbilt who was the first guest on the night of the inauguration. I would like to walk barefoot over those handcrafted tiles. I can even close my eyes and feel the freshness coming under my feet. Oh…to drink some mojitos and enjoy some tapas. Or maybe I would just stay still contemplating those always beautiful green and white awnings or those imposing wood beams.
