This weekend is a long holiday here in Brazil and we are planning on spending it by enjoying one of the best things Brazil has to offer: The Beach!  We are hitting the road this morning and seclude ourselves in a place where there is no phone, tv or internet inside the rooms, where we are expected to walk up a 250 meter hill to reach our destination (no cars allowed) and where I have no idea how all this simple pleasures experience will work out!  Wish us luck!  There used to be the time when success and full fulfillment was the hardest thing to accomplish now a days is let go of our modern days commodities, being connected… and to be 100% present which is what we are all truly suppose to do.  Have an excellent time wherever you are!

I have many places I want to go to, like many but, Capri in Italy is by far on the top of my list. At this point it has moved up to be the tittle of my list, really! I have the thought of me walking down one of its many hilly stoned walkways down to the beach with the air blowing my hair while my feet warm up at the touch of the hot ground. I may even fall down trying to take in the amazing view.  Jean Louis Deniot at home in Capri.

Now, this breath taking beach home in Capri designed by the one and only Jean-Louis Deniot makes my wishes go one step further and of all of a sudden I start thinking how about a vacation home there, even if it’s in a million year?  One can dream! Had I not read that Jean-Louis Deniot designed this home I would’ve thought that it was created by nature itself, especially the outside.  Enjoy!

Take a tour of Jacques Grange’s vacation home in the very private area of Portogallo, Portugal.  I found these new images at Marie Claire Maison Italy, and some of the things I was able to interpret was that the house was previously a fisherman’s house and Grange did not change any of the exterior features.  “Fa tanto rustico-chic”  he says, and I agree.  Casa Nina was decorated in a fundamental but sophisticated way, respecting the originality of the house and using whites and many tones of wood, Moroccan carpet and Jacques Grange’s characteristic use of African textile.  Grange’s ceramic collection from Portugal, Turkey, and France are displayed throughout his exquisite vacation home.  Enjoy!

Tom Scheerer's spectacular beach style, tom sheerer beach decor style living room

I posted a few times about Tom Scheerer’s spectacular beach style.  When I think of a long weekend the first thing that comes to my mind is a comfy beach house where to escape. Since we can’t go anywhere this weekend I can only dream of being in this gorgeous house designed by Tom Scheerer that has enchanted me since the first time I laid my eyes on it.  I love how the beauty of this house slowly reveals itself. As I keep looking at it I can notice the different colors and textures that at first are barely discernible due to the calmness in the colors. I also love how the playful patterns on the fabrics and wallpapers and the comfortable furniture make this house perfect for a family vacation home with a great degree of sophistication. As this house proves, a beach house doesn’t have to lack grandeur.

Have a happy 4th of July weekend!!!
