If you haven’t heard, then allow me to tell you that tassels are officially ornaments for the ears now.  They have (hopefully for ever) abandoned curtains, unless this one is in a museum and have decided that fashion is way more fun.  Enjoy!

Maison Michel makes beautiful and covetable hats since 1936 for the most prestigious fashion houses and private clients.  The prestigious design house has made hats for Givenchy, Chanel, Lanvin and many others.  Founded by hat maker Auguste Michel it’s now owned by Chanel.  Chanel’s accessories and jewelry artistic director, Laetitia Crahay is in charge of the Michel House.  Besides the perfectly made hats the Michel House also offers other headgear that are as beautiful as they are fun such as rabbit ear headbands, lace veils, rain hoods.  Below the company website explains their handcrafting approach. “The hat maker shapes felt or straw cones. The material is initially prepared to make it stiff and to give the hat its structure. It is then passed through a steam box so that the moisture makes it malleable. The hat maker takes it out and stretches it over its wooden block.  The block,  made from lime wood, generally has two parts, the crown and the brim.  Once the material has been applied and stretched on the block, it is dried in an oven at 90 °C.” MM.

Knowing that Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Fuller Olsen literally grew up in front of the TV, it is more than understandable that they have an extraordinary sense of fashion.  They are my all time favorites, I even have a full Pinterest board dedicated to them because there is nobody else I love to emulate as much.  Their love for fashion and their popular street style called “bohemian-bourgeois” is admired and copied by many.  At the moment they have a few clothing lines, one for girls carried by Walmart, Elizabeth and James which is a more affordable line than their Couture Fashion label The Row.  Enjoy!
