You may have seen this amazing Parisian apartment featured in Elle Decor in the November issue.  If you saw the magazine you probably bought it just to see more of this amazing flat.  My husband who never buys design magazines bought it for me in his latest trip overseas.  The designers to praise behind this creation are Kelli Wilde and Laurent Champeau who previously worked for Tino Zervudachi.  Restoring a lot of the original ornamented walls and ceiling the designers reconfigured the layout for a better flow.  The mixture of classic furniture and modern art is a perfection of sorts.  Enjoy!

Usually open bookcases are mostly used in spacious rooms to bring division and to display objects and few books as opposed to being overloaded with stuff.  We can see them quite often in the movies from the 60’s and today in public spaces.  These bookshelves are more of an art themselves as the objects displayed in them.  Enjoy!

I’m a big fan of displaying collections above a tall sideboard or cabinet.  Besides helping the room look taller it’s also a great space saver.  I collect pottery, more vases than anything else, and I can’t think of any other space where to display them.  Enjoy!

It’s very interesting how some iconic pieces came to realization out of a simple act. The iconic Pedro Friedeberg’s hand chair is one of those cases. The modern chair was created in Mexico City by local carpenters when Friedeberg’s mentor asked Pedro to give the local carpenters some work. Friedeberg asked them to make a hand big enough so he can sit on. It sounds funny, that’s what Pedro Friedeberg thought, however, the emblematic hand is now a very coveted modern piece of art.  Pedro Friedeberg’s style was obviously inspired by surrealism and his designs are loved by many stylish people. I better come up with an idea of a handy necklace.

Since then the chair has been made in many different finishes and sizes and its versatile aesthetic allows for it to be used in either traditional spaces, creating a dramatic and contrasting ambiance, and as well as in modern interiors.

A clean and functional kitchen is many people’s top priority; unless you happen to live in NYC, then the priority would be to be able to fit a bed in the bedroom.  It’s well known that the kitchen is the place where families spend most time, often being a place for friends and guests gathering as well.  Being the busiest place in the house is a smart idea to have easy access to everyday comforts.  Enjoy!

We all love neutral assemblages and vignettes.  And I think the reason why we all love it so much, besides the beauty, is because it has a touch of old glamour that makes it classic and timeless.  And as with everything timeless we can never grow old of it.  Enjoy!
