Timothy Whealon Design Monte Carlo Belle vivir blog

This beautiful home located in Monaco, Villa Nocturne, was designed by Timothy Whealon Timothy Whealon. The home went through a complete renovation from ground up.  The furniture and art Timothy used
to decorate the owners new home came from their previous home Whealon
had helped them decorate in the past.  How about that for smart buying?
 Enjoy!
On another note,  I’ve been enjoying a few days with my in-laws in Columbus, OH and between that and supervising jewelry prototypes production via text, yes you read that right, my time has been totally consumed.

To many people it may be unthinkable to know that more people than they think forget about dressing the walls.  They either get scared or intimidated by the thought of Gallery or salon walls or they just don’t know to fill the space.  I guess a simple rule of thumb is to get rid of the idea of perfection end result and any rule for that matter, and consider the conditions of the walls first of all.  If it’s in good condition maybe a good coat of paint or an elegant and simple paint technique before hanging one statement piece would be enough, as in Nicky Haslam Design in the top image, the walls are so beautifully done that a cluster of framed pictures would ruin the whole look.  Beautiful objects such as big mirror, one big painting or an exotic textiles are also simple options.  Of course a gallery wall is always a one step up if you decide to go for it.  Enjoy!

It´s true that nowadays modern living is more a bout hanging out with friends in the kitchen and in the living room while snaking around than formally sitting down at a dining room and to properly eat.  I usally try to do the last because it is frankly way more comfortable and personal.  Keeping the dining room simple is a sure way to avoid distractions and to focus on your guests.  Enjoy!

Warren Platner chairs by Knoll in the living room designed by Pamplemousse Design.
I was more than exited to see the chic work of Dalphine
Krakoff founder of Pamplemousse Design inc. in this moth issue of AD.
Delphine Krakoff does chic like no other and in case you were wondering how she
does it: she was born and raised in Paris and has worked for luxury houses such
as Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Coach and Ralph Lauren.
Pleasurable enough experiences that grant her a natural French flair that comes
across in her amazing interior design projects.  Take a look for yourself.
Enjoy!
The striped bathroom is covered in Bisazza tile

Now this is a screen room that looks so comfortable and huge that it could perfectly be converted into a guest room for multiple guests or better for sleep overs.

Love the spacious bathroom and the floor to ceiling windows

The elevator is upholstered in clad in calfskin.

rustic kitchen design

A masculine aesthetic is perhaps one that appeals to a much broader audience
than a more feminine one especially if it’s combined with industrial
touches.  As a matter of fact many women, me included, prefer to keep away
from the very feminine design, particularly from those with overdoses of fru-fru;
aka. looking like a doll house.  Luckily there is the Unisex Kitchen style with prefer light and clear spaces.  Chunky wood, metal,
concrete, stainless steel, oxidized finishing on either wood or metal are only
a few of the many options to keep in mind when going for a unisex neutral
kitchen.  Enjoy!

Jenni Kayne home in California designed in white and wood tones

As much as I love wall embellishments, from simple wall paint to intrinsic boiseries, I understand that when applied to modern spaces the result could be as fake as a toupe.  Nothing more inspirational than an architecture that is real and genuine like Jenni Kayne’s home.  Her home in Beverly Hills is modern and simple but full of warmth and comfort thanks to the use of wood paneled ceilings and walls, and livable and comfortable furniture.  Enjoy!
