Richard Hallberg at Designer Visions

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to attend the opening night of Designer Visions: Cinema Style, this year located at The Setai Fifth Avenue Residences. The three invited designers, inspired by the breathtaking views of New York City, based their apartment inspirations on movies that were set and filmed in New York City, of course. Jim & Phoebe Howard for House Beautiful chose the very popular “Something’s Gotta Give” which you have already probably seen in this month’s issue; Steven Gambrel for Town & Country chose “Six Degrees of Separation” to appear in the December issue; and Richard Hallberg for Veranda opted for “Wall Street” to be seen in the January issue. All of the apartments were beautiful and inspiring in their own particular style from Jim and Phoebe Howard’s subtle palette to Steven Gambrel’s gorgeous colorful space and expensive art to Richard Hallberg’s exuberant and glamorous interior.
I’m glad I was able to see these stunning spaces in person and was even happier to hear from Kelly that, for two days only (November 11th and November 13th), the spaces will be available for tours. Proceeds will benefit Baby Buggy. For more information on tickets please go here.

Below, the two first images are from Richard Hallberg’s interpretation of Wall Street where he “mixed 18th century furniture with contemporary pieces, modern art and Roman antiquities to produce a result that is timeless.” I love how the juxtaposition of the brass etageres against the leather covered walls and the ethnic accessories give this room that collected sophisticated feel. The feeling of the walls was amazing. More beautiful and detailed pictures will be seen in Veranda’s January issue.

On one side of the living room below, Richard paired a Luis XV chair with a modern chaise and a large antique armoire from Dennis & Leen. The sconces are from Vaughan.

The two images below are from other projects by Richard Hallberg.

I absolutely love those brass etageres and that gorgeous orchid with all the air roots! What a beautiful space, even if it is intended for a Wall Street tycoon!

Ok, Richard Hallberg (Swedish last name BTW).. I need to learn more about him. I love his style. The last image is fantastic. And if I could get hardwood floors like that in my bedroom, I would be one happy cat.

I am talking with Lars tomorrow! Will let you know.

    Also, expect an e-mail soon.
