Women’s love for shoes is undeniable and who can blame us? I’m loving the global chic influence on these wedges by Oscar De La Renta and the flat sandals below would be perfect to stroll flea markets on Sundays. Which one would you pick?

One of, if not the most, loved space in the house is the Kitchen. Maybe because it’s where families tend to reunite and spend time after a long day outside. In my kitchen I added bookshelves last year that stand tall up to the ceiling behind the banquette. I love how it anchored the entire Kitchen. Now with that in mind I really like how these up-to-the-ceiling upper cabinets make the eyes look up and appreciate the elaborate ceiling and how the glass doors make the whole space- which looks basically like a spacious hallway- look much bigger. One interesting detail is how the darkness inside of the cabinets bring depth to the space contributing to the illusion of a bigger-looking space. The ladder, oh the ladder, ah..design well thought…

The previous week I met Amanda Nisbet at the Crosby Street Hotel where she was presenting her new line of lighting for Urban Electric. Amanda told me that she wanted to create a collection of lighting which looks like jewelry that would embellish the home. Of course coming from Amanda, known for her bold use of colors in elegant ways, you know you should expect a collection of lighting that is young, fun and colorful.
As most of Urban Electric products, Amanda’s line of lighting is fully customizable in scale and colors. My personal favorite is Poppy (first pictured above) with the magnolia-shape holder. Isn’t that a lovely detail? And, as I’ve said so many times before, brass is one of my favorite things. Montreal in blue (below) is Amanda’s favorite. I think it would look great in a child’s room or in a chic media room. For more info please go here.

How creative. This is one of Amanda’s lighting used as a flower base.
