This open kitchen designed by David Kleinberg is a tropical-kitchen-setting-perfection.  The concrete counter top make it durable and low maintenance for a vacation home.  Having the everyday dishes at easy reach make daily activities much more light, easy and fun.  Below is my idea on designing a kitchen like this one to create a similar vibe without necessarily replicating it.  All you need is affordable art, a pair of swing arm sconces and a kitchen island with stools for your family and yourself to enjoy.

This cutie called Melinda in navy blue on tint is still available.  3yards and 3/4 of Alan Campbell for Quadrille for $175.   This much can be enough to cover a headboard, a small chair or a few pillows.

You have to agree with me that these Christian Louboutin loafers are the mother of all loafers, stylishly speaking.  They look surprisingly comfortable, hip, modern, and simply amazing with a heavy dose of rock and roll.  They are available at Saks by special order in case you’re wondering.  I think they rock!!!  Below is a selection of more affordable loafers but still stylish and young.  Enjoy.  Top image via Stockholm-Streetstyle.

The cheetah and glitters gold and silver at Jades24,  white loafer with bow is from Urban Outfitters, those cute blue ones with the red bow are available at Nordstrom and green Gucci softy tek loafers in suede is from Mytheresa.

I found these cute little creatures while searching for something else and I couldn’t resist post about them.   These stuffed leather animals are made in England by a company called Omersa.  They come in many different animal shapes and sizes, some as big as 6 feet tall therefore most of them are made to order.  They were very popular in the 60’s.  Very well constructed.  They are made inside with a wooden and metal frame which make them strong enough to take the weight of our bodies, then they’re covered in woodwool which gives them the desired shape and then finished with cowhide leather.  As consequence no two animals look the same.  Remember my obsession and disappointment with this Rhino?  I told him I was going to find one that fits all my needs one day.  I think I did and I might have changed directions too because look at that sheep…

It’s been very March lately so I’m looking forward to enjoying the outside and, as I said before, nothing else inspires me more than Nature.  These outdoor living areas are my own way of calling for April showers to bring more flowers.  Enjoy

I have this image by Melanie Acevedo on my inspirational board for the longest time and still makes me smile every time I look at it.
Don’t you love the juxtaposing of the roughness of the wooden columns and the softness of chevron curtains?  via.

Grasscloth wallpaper have come a long way since its retro time.  Long gone are the days when they were covering your grandmas’ living room in a mate-less refined finishes.  They continue to have the same organic elements in them such as made out of plant fiber typically dried out under the sun but they are all glam’d up now.  The modern versions of grasscloth wallpapers can now cover the walls of urban apartments and feel at home.  Phillip Jeffries has a great selection of those new shimmery wallpapers, some of them with beads that embellish them further.  Schumacher also has gorgeous ones that are also embroidered in scenery design.  Crezana Design’s Grasscloth Wallpapers are like a fantasy land from the most glamorous shimmery surfaces to embroidery ikat pattern ones that make me do victory dances every time I look at them.  Simply beautiful.  How not to love those designs.  Grasscloth wallpaper come in different texture and material such as raffia, seagrass, refine sisal, woven jute and paper weaves.
