I keep a lavender stem in my journal that my mother in law gave me last year. It has dried by now, but the smell is still strong and every time I smell it reminds me of that beautiful field of lavender where she picked it from. Amazing how a specific smell can make you re-live a whole experience again. Lavender has a very special presence, one of understated and classic elegance and a smell that usually brings a lot of happy memories. Don’t you agree?

Julie, I do love lavender…it's way too hot for it in Texas, but we can find it in abundance in the shops. My daughter has a very laid-back kind of style (not like me at all) and loves the tin buckets with all dried flowers. Lovely post.

Gorgeous post and I share your love for lavender, when we were in Provence last yaer…I bought these wonderful little sachets…they have long "expired" but there is still a soft trace of scent which I love and it takes me back to that incredible place everytime I take a sniff!!
