I was perusing interior design images a few days ago and noticed that the most beautiful home libraries didn’t shy away from color. Even in houses where the rest of the interior was prominently white, the studies were surprisingly rich in deep colors, perhaps because of the coziness and regal feeling that rich colorful rooms provide. In this case no better place for those characteristics to existing than in the intimacy of a home library. Nothing says cozy more than a warm home library, especially it has a fireplace. The most formal ones can have panelings and custom built-in bookcases and the most daring ones dazzle in bold colors and sophisticated furniture. Below, a few of the most beautiful home libraries I’ve seen lately. Enjoy!
I love the black and red bookcases contrasting the pale green walls in this home library.
Kelly Wearstler created a show-stopping home library with paneling wood and graphic wallpaper in the ceiling. This type of home decor is young and modern with a classic touch. Kelly Wearstler’s is an expert at creating beautiful home libraries as you can see for yourself here.
In this more traditional home library, the designer kept the color of the bookcases and walls the same bringing a harmonious atmosphere to the room. This home decor is on the more classic side.
Classic chairs surround a modern metal legs-table on top of black bookcases. Love the rusticity of the wood floor against the simple lines on the metal legs and ornate chairs.

I love the costume floor in this library. Black bookcases and gold lacquered ceiling add glam to the space. Unique crown moldings finish the modern black lacquer bookcases. Love the contrast of black and white and the simplicity of the ceiling socket fixtures.
Built-in shelves enveloped a custom sofa. The Eames chair is covered in a wool fabric.
White-oak bookcases and 70’s amber-glass table and swivel chairs give this cozy library a glam atmosphere.
This home library is not afraid to shine and it proves it by mingling together bright green walls, leopard stools with a striking crystal chandelier.
A multifunctional room, home library, and guest room there are built-in bookcases framing a French daybed.
Caroline Sieber’s Notting Hill home. Another multifunctional room that becomes the dining room when needed. The eighteenth-century Indian textile in the back wall inspired the room. See more of this house here.
