Month: September 2017

I can’t remember the that last time I wore a pants suit… But as the days get cooler and the new generation of pant suits are nothing like the old times, I find myself more drawn to wear one… To acquire some level of power dressing… Pants suits seem to embrace new silhouettes, softer fabrics and a better loose-fit in lieu of the more stiff ones compared to the old era.  All these new innovations to an all time favorite and possibly the only option, of working men has made the women suit appealing and ready to be worn by women of all workplaces and for unlimited occasions… Vogue calls these new women suits “Fashion Suits.”  Clothes can have a powerful effect on those wearing them as well as on the observant.  The suit, besides being worn for success, is now worn for fashion as well, still sends the powerful message of equal treatment expectation…

We finally bought our home here in Dublin and the exciting stage is about to start soon.  Boy, I can’t  wait… The house as it is now is a complete disaster, which makes me somehow weirdly happy.  Every single surface, space and room needs to be redone, replaced or updated from floor to ceiling and windows… you name it.  So it’s safe to say that we won’t be moving anytime soon.  And you may be asking yourself what do all this have to do with two tone kitchens… Well if you know America’s obsession with white kitchens… I thought it would be a good idea to try to do something different while still beautiful.  And also because I just realized how much I’ve loved two tone kitchens for like ever…

I also realized that I favor kitchens that don’t necessarily look too much like traditional kitchens, if you know what I mean… absence of upper cabinets, furniture like islands and a more lounging atmosphere in general, etc….

Now don’t you fret… by two tone kitchens I mean a contrasting color on either lower cabinets, upper cabinets or island and it usually works out very well.

Not for everyone but contrasting colors in this kitchen are surely rewarding and unique.  Green and white…

michael kors collection FW 2017

I’ve always been inclined to dress in a rather mature way… Perhaps it has to do with my education under the tutelage of nuns during my Catholic school attending years… Quite often I favor oversized coats and jackets.  And don’t even get me started about my obsession with blazers… It’s gratuitous to say how happy and excited I got when I saw Michael Kors Fall 2017 Collection.  It was a perfect union of discreet, power and sensuality.  If anyone doubted that all those elements could be found together in one same outfit, Michael Kors converted them.  The collection had everything Fall fashion should have except this one had an 80’s influence that made it irresistible.  The outfits were tailored but not constrict alternatively every piece, although a real interpretation of power dressing, looked enjoyable and wearable.  Jackets had rounded shoulders and good proportions, pants were pleated and cropped, waists were accentuated with extra wide belts.  All under beautiful layers of oversized blazers and camel coats.  Autumn’s most beloved colors such as moss green, camels, black, grays and burgundy were wonderfully present…

Most of the beautiful collection you can find at Net-A-Porter, of course… but for those not willing to pay full ticket price, below you can find some steals…
