6 Interior Design Books To Read In Fall 2018

I get super excited this time of year when the most anticipated Interior Design books are released.  As much as I enjoy Instagram and Pinterest, both good sources of inspiration and entertainment, nothing can compare to the full experience of holding, touching and reading a book.  Actually, the cold season is indeed the perfect time to enjoy a good book while cuddling up by the fire.  These inspirational volumes, published by Vendome and Rizzoli, are full of major ideas, and above all exclusivity, since most of the images you’ll find in these books have not been seen before.  Here are my 6 Interior Design books to read In 2018 that every design aficionado should add to her/his library.

The Gardens of Bunny Mellon by Linda Jane Holden (Vendome) Oct. 30th.

Interior design books to read, The Gardens of Bunny Mellon

Rachel “Bunny” Mellon designed many important gardens, including the Rose Garden and the East Garden at the White House, at the request of President Kennedy, and the gardens at both the Paris home and the château of couturier Hubert de Givenchy.  She also designed the Potager du Roi at Versailles.  All of those inspiring gardens are featured here in Gardens of Bunny Mellon.  Now that I have all the intention of designing my own garden in our newly renovated home, this is a must-have book in my library.  You can still see signs of Mellon’s exclusive taste in Tory Burch Antigua home that once belonged to Bunny.

Island Hopping by Amanda Lindroth Design (Vendome) September 25th

Interior design books to read, Island Hopping, amanda lindroth

If you love the splendor of Palm Beach tropical style, this is the book to get.  Amanda Lindroth takes us on a tour of gorgeous tropical homes from Antigua to Harbour Islands and others in between.  Her airy, ralaxed sensibility is represented in each of the 30 projects found in the book.  I’m a big fan of Colonial influence when it comes to tropical interiors and I loved to see represented in many of the homes in this book.
