La Posta Vecchia: The Ideal Roman Hideaway

La Posta Vecchia Hotel is conveniently located 40-minutes outside of Rome.  I’ve seen many beautiful images of the hotel on Instagram lately, and they are making me want to go to Rome faster than a speeding ticket.  The five-star hotel is built on the site of an ancient villa and 17th-century castle in the coastal town of Ladispoli, a few miles from Rome.  The location is ideal just to relax while enjoying the beautiful facilities or you can borrow a bike from the hotel and visit the Etruscan sites nearby.  The hotel also has a small museum with archeological findings beneath the structure.  Guests can take the train from Rome and be picked up at the local station.

La Posta Vecchia used to be the home of a noble family and then the Roman hideaway for Paul Getty.  The Renaissance villa is now owned by the same family who owned Il Pellicano.  The 19-rooms are of course, beautifully decorated at La Dolce Vita style.  Original fireplace, chandeliers, precious barbles, four-poster beds, luxury showers, and antique maps are some of the design details found in the rooms.
