Buckingham Palace: The Interiors

I get super excited this time of year when the most anticipated Interior Design books are released.  As much as I enjoy Instagram and Pinterest, both good sources of inspiration and entertainment, nothing can compare to the full experience of holding, touching and reading a book.  Actually, the cold season is indeed the perfect time to enjoy a good book while cuddling up by the fire.  These inspirational volumes, published by Vendome and Rizzoli, are full of major ideas, and above all exclusivity, since most of the images you’ll find in these books have not been seen before.  Here are my 6 Interior Design books to read In 2018 that every design aficionado should add to her/his library.

I love it when I go to the Super market and come across something I’ve never heard of before and the next thing I know it becomes my favorite thing.  I learned that from my husband actually.  He always comes with something really interesting to try.  These are some of my favorite things I’ve come across lately.  Below, 5 favorites of Belle Vivir for this month.  The one I’m most excited about is the book Versailles, A Private Invitation.

I read about this book at AD and immediately knew I wanted to buy it.  Who wouldn’t want a private tour of one of the most impressive and most visited palaces in France…The book Versailles, A Private Invitation by Guillaume Picon with photos of Francis Hammond grants access to the beautiful interiors of Versailles without photobombs obstructing your view.   A must addition to any stylish library.

Swan: Legends of the Jet Society book gives us a glance into the aristocratic world of the privileged and jet setters.  Written by Nicholas Foulkes, the book is full of beautiful images and anecdotes detailing the luxurious lifestyle of an elite way of life.  Traveling in private jets and luxurious yachts, throwing decadent parties and wearing haute couture are some of the indulges we get to see in this book.  Clearly a must-have book to any chic library.

There is only a handful of things that would make a house become a home other than books.  It lends the house a life and intimacy of its own.  The thing I miss the most from our previous home is our beautiful black bookcases filled with books and magazines ranging from different subjects that covered everything from Design, History, Bestsellers to even fun books like “How to be like Audrey”.  They have this magical touch that makes them look good in any type of display either piled up on the floor, on top of a table, or in bookcases. Yes, every home should have books.  Enjoy!

The Hermes Scarf: History & Mystique

I’m anxiously awaiting for Nadine Coleno’s book The Hermes Scarf: History & Mystique tracing the history of more than 2,000 Hermes scarf patterns since the first scarf debuted in 1937. Hermes scarfs have always symbolized a timeless style icon pursued and admired by many. Although for many of us collecting these legendary scarfs will require a hard-skin tenacity and a full time dedication in order to grab one soon as is available, that goes without saying the extensive amount of money implicated. There is always the possibility of having this book that is undoubtedly a must-have and a great education reference. The book is published by Thames & Hudson and it’ll be available in July but you can pre-order it here.

All the unnecessary snow that have come upon us in the East Coast reminded me of these photos from my file and how I would like to cuddle up with a good book in one of these fantastic reading spaces.
