I know we haven’t even celebrated Thanksgiving yet, but to my defense, Christmas decorating takes a lot more time and planning than Thanksgiving.  Although this last statement may as well be subjective…  For now, I can’t wait to start listening to Christmas songs while imagining decorating our Christmas tree and also while doing almost everything else.  Unfortunately, our home is far from being ready, so our own Christmas tree may not happen this year, but I can’t wait to enjoy others.  The king of the season is, of course, the Christmas tree which will need a respective tree collar or tree skirt.  Here is a fabulous roundup:

Michelangelo Divine Draftsman & Designer at The Met From Nov. 13 through Feb. 12

A celebrated artist for over half a millennium, Michelangelo is having his largest exhibit at The Met in New York City.  The exhibition will showcase 150 drawings, three marble sculptures and other works, including Met’s own collection of two rarely displayed drawings and one sculpture.  Among the works presented, is a monumental cartoon for his last fresco in the Vatican Palace.  There will also be work of other artist for comparison and context.  A must see exhibition for sure.

The Musse Yves Saint Laurent  Paris will open in an elegant 19th Century mansion in the city of light on October 3.  The Musse Yves Saint Laurent Marrakesh will follow soon this month…  The planning, design and execution of both museums took more than a decade.  The museum in Paris will exhibit Mr. Saint Laurent’s couture, including iconic pieces as the 1965 Mondrian dress and many other legendary pieces.  The fabulous Interior Designer Jacques Grange partnered the renowned exhibition-set designer Nathalie Crinière to refresh the decor of the galleries.  Jacques Grange had decorated the couture house in the 1980s.

Rodin at the Met; Sept 16 through Jan. 15

On the centenary of the death of Auguste Rodin (1840–1917), The Metropolitan Museum of Art will celebrate its historic collection of the artist’s work. Nearly 50 marble, bronze, plaster, and terracottas by Rodin, representing more than a century of acquisitions and gifts to the Museum, will be displayed in the newly installed and refurbished Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Sculpture Gallery.  With a selection of drawings, prints, letters, and illustrated books, as well as photographs of the master sculptor and his art.
