I’m so disappointed that I fell asleep on the sofa before The Oscars ended last night.  On my defense though the show started at 11 PM our time so by 12:30 I had already passed out.   I don’t know what I regret the most; enjoying Ellen DeGeneres’s hilarious jokes or watching Matthew Mcconaughey being called for best actor.  Last night’s red carpet was full of beautifully dressed actresses although nothing extraordinary.  My favorite best dressed, and I think the rest of the world, was Lupita Nyong’o who was wearing a gorgeous custom baby blue Prada dress.  I had no idea Lupita was born in Mexico to Kenyan parents.  She is always beautifully dressed, no wonder she has quickly become a style icon.

Charlize Theron was beautiful as always in a black dress, by Dior Haute Couture.

I think the color chosen for Cate Blanchett’s Armani Prive dress was too close to her own skin tone, but nevertheless was beautiful and very appropriate for the night.
I loved Jennifer Lawrence peplum red dress by Dior Haute Couture.
I think Amy Adams was simply elegant in this navy blue Gucci premier gown.
Angelina Jolie wore an Elie Saab Haute Couture

Fur coats have been used for cold protection since forever, although back then it was for strictly survival reasons rather than fashion motives.  Despite being probably one of the most controversial topics in Fashion it is indeed in its heydays, if we go by its constant presence during Fashion Weeks lately.  From real ones to fabulous faux fur options, fur coats are more present than ever in any chic woman’s wardrobe.

Topshop Unique is Topshop’s runway collection shown at London Fashion Week.  Their Autumn/Winter 2014 presentation was pretty high fashion with a seduction of layers, mixed patterns and lots of fur.  Topshop Unique is well anticipated by the A-list fashion crowd for its fantastic and couture-like designs at reasonable prices.  Here are a few outfits that scream “wear me!!”.

I love to keep track of street style during Fashion Week, to see how fashion bloggers wear the latest fashion trends and get ideas on how to use them myself.  The fashion in the streets of London can be more conservative and more lady like, sometimes a bit stiffer, than in most fashion capitals although sometimes it can take a whole different route and be more artistic and free-spirited.  Luckily the weather during London Fashion week was way more forgiving than New York Fashion week so the outfits under the coats were more exposed.  This year the styles were more relaxed and comfortably-chic, ripped jeans, mid calf skirts, below the knee coats and fabulous accessories like cut out ankle boots and boy Chanel bags.  Exactly my cup of tea!

I’ve been keeping an eye on the New York Fashion Week Fall 2014 runways this past week where a very stylish and brave Fashion crowd confronted the cold, snow covered NYC streets and enjoyed the fun of Fashion week.  I love what most designers presented where the colors more present were black and grey.  Here are my favorites.
