I love the style of The Olsen Twins from their oversize outfit to their skinny jeans.  Sadly I think I may have some issues with adjusting styles according to my age since I’m not as young as The Olsens were in this picture anymore, but I don’t feel like it. After dressing too formal all my life all of a certain all I want to do sometimes is to dress as comfy and careless as they do, especially during summer.

God! have I forgotten this gem blog this week?  Not in my heart though.  I’ve been running around and this post has been sitting there for two days now.  Yesterday was a hectic day, running around from one work site to the other and when I noticed it was too late to make it to the Kips Bay Decorator’s cocktail party to which I was invited.  Oh well these are the days!
Without even knowing it was going to rain today I prepared this post on Sunday night, but it seems too appropriate since nautical inspirations many times have to do with loads and loads of rainy ports.  Enjoy!

Adore the bookcases in this room and the aged leather, the rustic table and the burlap fabric on the chase lounge.

As I’ve said many times in this blog I love colors and one color that’s been buzzing right in my ears, closer than usual, is Cobalt Blue.  It could be light or dark but without a doubt the dark tone is more powerful.  I would love to paint a library or a TV room in this color and pair it with white.  A lot of contrast and impact.

For many reasons my obsession for stripes, I could say, is strong but perhaps the main reason is that stripes could be timeless like seen in these images below. A bathroom featured in 1995 by Elle Decor that still looks up-to-date and a photograph of Audrey Hepburn lounging at her home on a striped couch are two great models of its classic influence.

One of my favorite places in the city is Benoit. The paneled dining room with the cozy red banquettes can inevitably transport you to Paris in a second. But it’s the striking black and white striped bar that hypnotizes me. It’s so incredibly perfect that looking at it could drive you insane and most likely you’ll need a bib. Below are images that I love and remind me of the always perfect, “no-way-Jose-can-go-wrong”, classy stripes.
