This year we took a more relaxed approach to Christmas decorating. Instead of a front door garland, like last year, we opted for a wreath. We decorated every room in the house although lightly though. Small indoor planted Norfolk pine trees were displayed in the dining room and kitchen. While a bigger tree was decorated in our TV room where we spend most time at nights.

As the days approach for Christmas eve, fingers crossed a snowed one, I get more and more excited about this special time of year. It never gets old, everything from the Christmas carols, the rushing of Christmas presents, the planning of what to make for dinner to the expectations of the new year, every year is as new as it can get. And little other things throughout the year make up for this, the most wonderful time of the year.

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that we’ve been working really hard on our outdoor space, soon to be gardens. At the moment we are working in one area of the backyard to make it into an al fresco dining area. As more states are opening up to businesses, I think my family and I won’t be going to an indoor restaurant anytime soon. Outdoor living has never been more appreciated as in this current moment in history. I put together this chic ensemble for outdoor entertaining, just in case you were looking for some inspiration. Enjoy!

Mother’s Day is this coming Sunday and I can’t wait to decorate our table for our traditional brunch. Even amidst the unimaginable situation, we are living in, there is the silver lining that families are together, enjoying each other more than ever before, spending time together perhaps without too much digital interruption. It’s self-assuring to know that in these moments of fear and anxiety, we have closeby the people we trust the most.

It could be difficult to decide what type of window treatment to use in our homes. When confronted with countless possibilities of window treatments, the feeling could be overwhelming, to say the least. Some windows call for shades, some call for curtain panels, some even for indoor shutters and others beg to let be bare. It would be exceptionally easy if within those previously mentioned categories, weren’t a bunch of other subcategories to choose from. Under shades along, for instance, we have the Roman shade, balloon shades, roller shade, scalloped shade and so on. Under curtain panels, we have different types of pleats to pick and whether or not use a balance or a cornice on top of the curtain. You see where I’m going… I’m amazed at how some people still wonder why there is a reason to hire an Interior Designer… Spoiler alert, because we make things easier.

I don’t wake up until I get to have my espresso in the morning.  My coffee station in my kitchen is my sanctuary hence, besides having all the props to prep my coffee without having to move one step, I make sure there is always something pretty to make me smile in the mornings.  Complementary things such as flowers, ceramics, or a beautiful decorative sugar jar are a few of my favorite details to make my coffee station more motivational.
