An asking price is NOT your chance to test the market

A lot of people don’t see their asking price as a big deal. After all, you can always change it! So, they set their price higher than what their home has been valued at – just to push their luck. Then they reduce the price to try and entice buyers and they play around thinking they will eventually give someone what they want! This can completely wreck your chances of selling your home. Altering your asking price shows a lack of confidence, and it makes people question your property. Getting your price right the first time is key.

8 Chic Spaces Show Us What Makes A Home Chic

I’ve been studying Interior Design and chic spaces on my own and school, for years. On my own I love to try to understand the spaces I’m interested in and talk about most of them in this blog. As good design has historically proven, design style is pretty much adjusted by region or state. Even though in some cases this traditional thinking doesn’t apply. Take the proximity between New York City and New Jersey for example. Two states one cotton ball throw away from each other, yet they could not be further apart in design aesthetics. Chic spaces for me are spaces where things juxtapose with tension and friction, where according to conventional thoughts, things are not supposed to work, but they do. A Luis XVI chair upholstered in black liquid leather and placed next to a Jacques Adnet side table would create that ambiance. Add an abstract painting on top, and the whole feeling will get stretched out a bit more. Like someone once said, It’s like having a tension cord about to pop. A classic architectural home with modern art and edgy modern furniture pieces would also create a very chic outlook. New York, in my opinion, is the City that best codifies chic spaces. Maybe it’s because of New York’s own diversity, and dynamism comes seeping into its interiors? Of course, chic spaces are all around us. Below are images with distinctive styles that give us a glimpse into what makes a space chic and most importantly how to make a home chic.

10 Must-Have Fashion Pieces For Spring 2018

Not much to add to this roundup of must-have fashion pieces for Spring other than the fact that everyone I encounter lately says the same thing ” I’m ready for Spring weather” and so am I. We’ve had snow for the past two days, along with temperatures below freezing, and just right now it’s snowing while our heating in the first floor is out. So much fun! On the flip side, the days have been brightly sunny and beautiful. These shining sunny days almost make me forget how cold it is until I step foot outside. The simple act of looking at these fashion pieces to wear in Spring make me hopeful. Among them we have a bright yellow dress- yellow is a favorite color of the season. We also have the controversial kitten heels… people either hate them or love them. And I’m kind of in the middle of both sides, because I recognize that they look feminine and even romantic but I’ve gotten a few kitten heels stuck between the sidewalk floor vent grilles in New York and the cobblestones in Europe and it’s not really enjoyable.

1 A polkadoted top because polkadot is the new black this Spring. 2 A maxi dress in the season’s color, yellow. 3 An asymmetrical top, this trend is borrowed from last year’s. 4 A simple white t-shirt to dress it up with a blazer or dress it down with a simple pair of jeans. 5 kitten heels pump. 6 Sneakers will never go out of style any time soon, this is especially significant to the mothers that juggle everything from work to children after-school activities, hence super women. 7 pastel blazer in a pastel color. 8 Structured bag is another trend of this season. 9 belted pants. 10 And last but not least is the straw bag. My Favorite Royals: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Everyone has been over the moon since the engagement announcement between Megan Markle and Prince Harry. Even cynics secretly rejoice at the sight of the gorgeous couple’s love and happiness and what it represents to many. Their engagement photos were released yesterday looking like a dream. Meghan looked like a princess herself and Harry looked as always super handsome. I can’t wait to see their beautiful future children and watch them growing together as a couple and individuals. The couple will spend Christmas at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate and will marry next year on May 19 in George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The photos were taken by Alexi Lubomirski.
