I will assume that the next time we are all free to travel safely, our travels will be chosen more wisely, perhaps even purposely. I, for instance, have decided that my first travel will be within the Country, maybe somewhere in Napa to support the economy which is taking a big blow, to say the least. My second trip, however, will be of course to Europe. And it will be for the sole intention of indulging. The Spa at Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco looks like the perfect place to offer me that.

I can’t believe it’s been 8 weeks since in quarantine. It’s safe to say that by now, we are all looking forward to the days where our lives are back to normal in a safe manner. However hard these times seem to feel, to some of us it’s nothing compared to those who are suffering, are in the frontline, nurses, doctors, first responders, and all of those heroes who have taken it upon themselves to serve those most in need. So I can easily complain about how much I want my life back, however, I am extremely grateful for all we have right now and hopeful that soon this all will be over.

Happy Mother’s Day! and enjoy your weekend!.

It’s self-assuring to know that in these moments of fear and anxiety, we have closeby the people we trust the most.

I can’t think of a more fitting time than now to start this new series: Designing A, and what is more appealing than starting with a pool house…? As some States are slowly opening up for business, I would think or hope that many people are still maintaining their social distancing outside of their workplace and not going out to public places for a while. In such a case, a pool house beautifully and comfortably designed to escape to would be a real treat.

Like every other part of a house, when it comes to designing it, the process should start like this, addressing the homeowner’s needs aka function, Architecture aka adaptation and sense of belonging, and lifestyle aka style. Of course, in the end, it will all depend on the budget. For the obvious reasons which are fun and creative freedom, we’ll not consider a budget. I’ll design this pool house for a Tuscan style Architecture.

I swear to you that our neighbors across from us are the chicest neighbors I could ever ask for. This couple is in their 70’s, besides having a landscape company which maintains their grounds, they attend their beautiful garden regularly by themselves. The thing I truly enjoy the most about it is the fact that she wears a red swimsuit and a straw hat while cutting roses and trimming boxes. I can’t stop watching them. Yes, they probably think I’m a freak.
