If you are into fashion then you already know by now that Clare Waight Keller has left her role as Artistic Director of Givenchy. While it’s unknown the reason for her departure, some hint at the insufficiency of sales growth. There is no doubt that this world upending pandemic has come to change the way we live and possibly the way many people work. Conde Nast has recently announced pay cuts and potential job eliminations as the economy continues to slow down.
Read More…I’m so happy that I’m taking off tomorrow to Paris for a week with a couple of girlfriends. I’m in need of some serious distraction these days and this is the perfect excuse. As I’m sure you understand, the posts this week will be spare and light for the reason that when you are in Paris you have no other option than submerging yourself in the City of Light. You can always follow me on Instagram where I’ll be posting places and discoveries along. au revoir!
“If you want to be trendy, in the end you lose,” says Touitou to WSJ. “My design has been uncorrupted for 30 years.” Jean Touitou founded A.P.C. the eponymous fashion brand in Paris. The clothing line is characterized by its clean aesthetic. Although the apartment has minimalistic design the result is warm and inviting. Much in part for the for the space blond elm paneling. When we think of a paneling Parisian apartment, the first image that comes to mind is a more traditional ornate paneling but it’s also important to look a different interpretations of classic design. This is a great interpretation of modern and traditional design which in this case is executed in a very unique way as well. Just take a look at the laundry room, below for a lesson on subdued elegance.
Architect Laurent Deroo, who has worked with Touitou for the past 15 years on the design of the A.P.C. stores, designed the Paris.
Thanks to Instagram, I have found another fashion icon, Erika Bearman. Erika is an expert in style; she was SVP of Global Communications for Oscar de la Renta LLC, a position she held for seven years. Bearman honed her fashion, style, and grace under the company of her one-time boss and beautiful friend, Mr. Oscar de la Renta. Currently, according to her Instagram bio, Erika has three main passions, 𝒷𝓁𝒶𝒸𝓀 𝓈𝓌𝒶𝓃. 𝑒𝓁𝑒𝒸𝓉𝓇𝒶. 𝒷𝓇𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒶𝒹𝓋𝒾𝓈𝑜𝓇. Electra is her beautiful daughter. If you feel her name sounds familiar, that’s because Erika Bearman was the face and mind behind the popular @OscarPEGirl twitter account.
A Fashionable Life will be another regular post of this blog, which I’ll try to post every Friday. For this initial post, we are all super lucky since we get a glimpse into Lauren Santo Domingo’s Southampton home currently featured in the September issue of Vogue. I love Lauren’s style in fashion and interiors, and her Southampton home is like a perfect new home that feels old, classic old indeed. Lauren worked with the distinguished classicist architect Gil Schafer. Unfortunately, Vogue article only shows the beautiful and magical garden designed by Miranda Brooks and the interiors of the barn decorated by Virginia Tupker.

Whenever I hear of one of Tory Burch’s Interior Design projects I know it’s going to be quite spectacular since her frequent collaborator is the uber-talented Architect and Interior Designer Daniel Romualdez. Tory Burch’s Manhattan office is as chic as it can be and it’s proof that office design can be personal and cozy while elegant as well. Tory’s office was designed with feng shui disciplines to bring harmony and positive flow to the workspace. “I work with a feng shui master,” Burch told AD.
Lauren Santo Domingo, Co-Founder of Moda Operandi is a lady of many hats. Stylish socialite, fashion business woman, co-founder of Moda Operandi and contributing editor to American Vogue. One of the things I admire the most about Santo Domingo, is her originality when it comes to fashion choices. You may say, well she has all the money in the world to do that but if you pay attention money doesn’t buy good taste, to say the least. I follow Lauren Santo Domingo Instagram and I laughed at her simple but clear previous bio profile “Why be boring…” She recently changed it.
The native New Yorker began her fashion career as an assistant at American Vogue. Then Santo Domingo became the PR director for Paris-based furrier J.Mendel, where she helped launch the brand’s ready-to-wear collection, working for Barcelona based Puig Group she served as lead of the PR department of Carolina Herrera. Then managing editor and then contributing editor for Vogue. Her most recent innovative project, which most fashion aficionados know, is the luxury e-site Moda Operandi which she co-founded in 2010 in collaboration with former Gilt Groupe executive Aslaug Magnusdottir. This ingenious new way of shopping “allowes avid shoppers to pre-order a select edit of catwalk looks directly after they ware presented during fashion week through a series of online trunk shows, turning a six-month wait into an exciting ‘buy-now’ experience” BOF. The site is a great platform to new up and coming designers, which I love very much.
