If you are into fashion then you already know by now that Clare Waight Keller has left her role as Artistic Director of Givenchy. While it’s unknown the reason for her departure, some hint at the insufficiency of sales growth. There is no doubt that this world upending pandemic has come to change the way we live and possibly the way many people work. Conde Nast has recently announced pay cuts and potential job eliminations as the economy continues to slow down.
Clare Waight Keller was the brand’s first female artistic director. Her position lasted three years during which she commuted from London, where her family lives, to Paris. Prior to serving as Artistic Director for Givenchy, Clare spent seven years at Chloe. I’ve seen photos of her Parisian apartment, but it is her Instagram account where we could see snippets of her Givenchy office that most inspired me. Below, I’m posting a mingling of the two.
Clare’s Parisian apartment was published in WSJ four years ago when she was still Chloe’s Artistic Director. The apartment has the spirit of Chloe in the sense that it has a nonfussy decoration where furniture and accessories from different backgrounds seem to blend artistically. Her Givenchy office always beamed with gorgeous flower arrangements.
