I’ve been really into cooking lately. Although I’m of course interested in cooking for taste, I’m more so into cooking for health, hence these healthy recipes of Holiday cookies. There is nothing better than making a regular cookie into something not only decadently tasty but also healthy. Since I’ve been gluten-free for health reasons for over eight years, way before it became fashionable, I’ve been forced to be creative and resourceful when it comes to gluten-free cooking. Luckily, nowadays more than ever, companies have gotten on board and are offering a lot of gluten-free products. However, not everything without gluten is necessarily healthy: it’s essential to look for the right ingredients in already available products. Or, often we are better off cooking at home. Once in a while, I’ll be sharing healthy recipes here, some of my own, and others from real professionals.
Enjoy these delicious soft cookies made of dried dates, cocoa, coconut, and reduced-fat peanut butter. “Dates are an ideal food for improved energy and brain function. They are a good source of vitamin A & B-complex, and they are rich in minerals such as iron, calcium, manganese, copper, and potassium. Dates are known to help build bone and muscle strength and have been used for thousands of years by athletes to improve physical endurance, agility, and stamina.” Medical Medium
2- Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
I prefer cookies that aren’t too sweet and these pumpkin chocolate chip cookies don’t only promise to be soft, sweet and spicy but they are also under 35 calories. Perfect to leave room for the rest of the holiday treats.
2- Ginger Pecan Oatmeal Crisps
Ginger is incredibly beneficial for the digestive system, and it can help with nausea and morning sickness. I love pecan in almost everything, the only thing I would replace in this recipe is the wheat flour for almond flour.
4- Mocha Chocolate No-Bake Cookies
Even if you don’t enjoy baking, you can still have fun making these chocolate no-bake cookies. They don’t require too much effort and mostly not much time.
5- Vegan Double Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
I can only imagine that it must be hard to be a vegan. I have high respect for people who choose to be vegan as out of compassion for animals, with this delicious recipe, it can also be fun to be a vegan as well.
6- Healthy Gingerbread Men Cookies
No other cookie says Christmas like gingerbread men cookies. This recipe is on the healthy side for all our benefits.
Who doesn’t yearn for a sugar cookie with a cup of hot cocoa or tea if you want it to make even healthier? I think that desserts that are made with almond flour taste so much better than a traditional flour.
8- Cranberry Almond Biscotti – GlutenFree
These gluten-free, and paleo biscotti are made from almond flour and filled with dried cranberries and whole almonds. These cookies I would definitely enjoy with coffee though.
A much lighter version than the regular pecan pie, these delicious cookies will allow you to enjoy them without the excess calories.
10- Gluten-Free Mocha Hazelnut Cookies
Any cookie recipe that includes chocolate and hazelnut is more than worthwhile to try.
