I’m very excited about Thanksgiving this year because my sister from Virginia is coming over and spending it with us.  I’m accumulating as much images of Thanksgiving decor as I can for inspirations and ideas to decorate around the house.  The Holidays are for decorators what Candyland is for kids.  The decorating, the planning process and the anticipation of having a great time with loved is overwhelmingly energizing.

Some people are lucky, and others are ridiculously lucky.  Claude Wasserstein is among the latter, not only for having the freedom to hire three top designers such as Jacques Grange, Jeffrey Bilhuber and Daniel Romualdez but for having both of best worlds, an elegantly chic apartment, and an incredible garden, both in the City.  When I was finalizing reading the huge September issue of Vogue, notice using a pillow underneath to cushion my legs, I came across this refreshing breath of air from a rooftop apartment with an amazing outside garden complete with a table that seats up to ten people.  Exceptional!  The splash of yellow throughout the house is evident, and the layers of a colorful palette are uplifting and appropriate for every season.  It’s a long weekend, yippieee! And I’m planning to enjoy it with my family, locally and relaxed.  Have an excellent Labor Day Weekend everyone!

I love the aesthetic of this room above where the color scheme is kept to neutral colors.  I especially love how much the art modernizes the space.
I have had this post about gallery walls Ideas or wall art composition saved for a few weeks, and lucky for me I have something interesting to share with you today.  An art wall composition with mixed and matching frames is to my eye a lot more interesting than one that keeps the same frame and displayed in a contained group. I think it’s a more collective and exiting look.  Here are a few wall art composition ideas to inspire your home decor.  I think that as long as one keeps similar color scheme in the art and in the frames and keeps an equal distance between them, anyone can do it well. Of course having great art doesn’t hurt either. Enjoy!

This room is a great interpretation of ” Glam granny”.  The silhouettes represent the old part of the room but in a very stylish way.

It’s one exciting thing working with a client but it’s an even more fulfilling experience when you work with a client who is knowledgeable and has great taste (she covered her foyer in David Hicks’s hexagon wallpaper- that is how tasteful she is!).  When I sold the Potalla fabric here at my blog I had no idea I was going to end up working the fabric into its final state.  In this case my client wanted to make seat covers for her existing chairs and I think they look gorgeous, young and modern.   We also made the window treatments for the living room and the nursery room.  My seamstress, who has been my friend for more than 10 years is a perfectionist and her work is immaculate.  As you can see below, two separate windows in the living room where the panels are so well detailed and calculated that every geometric pattern of the Victoria Hagan fabric is aligned.

This week I decided to do something different for my Wednesday Classics series.  Instead of talking about a theme or style, I’m sharing with you images of this beautiful Belgian home which is furnished with classic Danish leather furniture, ethnic textiles and a collection of artifacts from South Africa.  A very classic home on its own way and style.  Enjoy!

Lacquered furniture have been around for centuries but liquid leather as upholstery is a trend that’s picking up quite a lot lately. Very much loved and used by Steven Gambrel and Nate Berkus in their polished and sophisticated interiors, it may be a trend that stays longer than usual; after all, shiny surfaces is something that is very much loved by a big majority. I personally love the look, what about you; would you use liquid leather as an upholstery option in your home?
