Joseph Dirand describes his new Paris apartment as “Ornamental Minimalism”. As always in any Joseph Dirand’s creation, the craftmanship is front and center. Take a look at his previous apartment here. “I create space with equilibrium and a classic base.” Yet “there are details and compositions,” he told AD. Caroline Gidiere's Alabama Home Veranda facade

Caroline Gidiere‘s Alabama home must have appeared in everyone’s Instagram feed by now. The interior of the home was the first ere design job of Caroline and it proves that taste when combined with good proportions and good planning always work. Originally Gidiere was looking to renovate an old house but the circumstances of the previous old home weren’t salvable so she collaborated on a new construction with Architect James F. Carter. The Interior design was inspired by Caroline’s favorite designers, Miles Redd, Daniel Romualdez, David Netto, Frances Elkins, and Renzo Mongiardino.

The brick Georgian home located in Birmingham, Alabama was inspired by George Wythe house in Colonial Williamsburg “I wanted to do a riff on the George Wythe house,” Caroline told Veranda. The house is relatively new, it was built less than a decade but the feel of it is as if it’s been there for much longer than that. You read the entire article at Veranda.

I recently read somewhere that decorating is about self-respect, your environment reflects what you “think of yourself” so surround yourself with the best you can afford.  It’s often said that we only get one chance to make a good impression?  In this case, though, there are many opportunities to doing it right, meaning that we have infinite chances to make our homes the best and most we can.  Our surroundings define our moods so why not make that work for us daily?
The best part of implementing these decorating tips to boost your mood is that they won’t cost you much.

This 1925 Tudor home designed by Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent proves a soft neutral palette can be warm and modern at the same time. The design couple transformed the formal, dark Tudor home into an open, bright and more modern one.

Axel-Vervoordt-betty-gertz-living-room

Axel Vervoordt is one of the most acclaimed and recognized International Interior Designer. Many people are praising his latest featured project, Kim and Kanye’s home which is a rampant difference from Betty Gertz’s home in Dallas. I personally think that the rapper’s home is not the place I would like to raise children in. I humbly think that Axel Vervoordt’s best designs are those done before he turned so minimalist case in point, this inviting, and timeless home he designed for Betty Gertz featured back in 2015 in AD. Many of his best design elements can be seen throughout, especially the big Wabi-Sabi influence with the use of organic materials, quality craftsmanship and neutral muted tones.
