While searching about this black and white kitchen below, I came across the sitting area of another kitchen that looked as they belonged together, sort of like a Dream Kitchen Design.
black and white kitchen, design, beam ceiling, black stove and hood and glass upper cabinetsThe black and white kitchen with ceiling-high subway tiles and dark grout was designed by  Tamara Magel while the would-be other side of the “Dream Kitchen” with a more neutral, earthy tones was designed by Huniford.  Their aesthetics and atmospheres are very similar to each other, especially when the exposed beam ceiling is a shared interior architectural detail.  The shared color in both kitchens is white, especially in the first two images where white is on almost every surface except for the beam ceiling and the black range hood.  This is a very relaxing and clean kitchen, however I believe that the tones in the last two images are a bit more soothing and warmer due to the use of earthy tones such as grey, browns, black and the touch of nature in the form of indoor plants.  Such details make a difference when it comes to creating an atmosphere in interiors.

The choice of glass doors for the upper cabinets give this kitchen an open feeling.  It also softens up the exposed beam ceiling.

I especially love the windows in this kitchen sitting area.  The details of curved edges soften up the brick walls and metal windows.

In my pursuit for images of Black and White Interiors I remembered this stunning home decorated in this timeless elegant hue combination.  The owners love black and white decor hence their Architect design a home with the stunning backdrop of white walls, high lacquered black floors, black curtains bedecked with splashes of gold, gray and dark brown.  The choice of a black-and-white palette for the decor of this house enhances the architecture while the mixture of modern and classic furniture brings in a touch of classic modernism.

While yesterday perusing Nuevo Estilo I came across this chic triplex in Barcelona designed by Bruno Reymond.  The modern/midcentury-ish design style may not appeal to everyone but the execution of the modern space and how it’s warmed up with big and modern furniture with strong lines may do.  My favorite space in this triplex apartment is the entryway with that unusual oversize faux elephant head welcoming visitors, how unique and chic is that?  It’s youthful and stimulating.

I’ve said before how much I love black in interiors.  It literally goes with everything and it can transform any dull-looking room into a more dramatic and glamorous space.  It brings dimension to a room.  As simple as a black chair or a black sideboard can add drama and elegance to a white or neutral room.  Many people believe that by painting walls in black would make the room smaller when actually the opposite can happen when black walls appear to pull back as it shows in the top image.   Have a good weekend!

A black and white space designed by Luis Bustamante
Are you a blogger?  Do you know those days when you wake up with no idea what to post about?  Today is like that for me.  Maybe it’s because it’s my husband’s birthday today and I rather focus on that mostly.  Happy birthday my love!  However, there is always time to squeeze in a few gorgeous images of black and white spaces to inspire.  Enjoy!

Eric Yerno, the owner of this home where a mélange of Art-deco, oriental influences and geometry beautifully coincide in a black and white home, is from France and moved to Spain in 1998 to open a PR firm. Eric had help from Victoria Melian to make this home truly jaw dropping. Published in AD Spain March issue, photographed by Pablo Suloaga and styled by Ines Sentmenat.

The sofa by Maison Jansen was inherited by his grandmother.  I think the leather upholstery is just genius.  The tables are from the 50’s.  If I ever find a table like these ones I would bring it home with me even if I need to buy an extra plain ticket.
