Paris bistro Le Chardenoux is located in the 11th arrondissement, an area known for its gourmet restaurants and hip bars. The stunning restaurant Le Chardenoux is the latest acquisition of Chef Cyril Lignac who hired Martin Brudnizski to give it a fresh decor; Martin is the designer behind the fashionable London club Annabel’s. The bistro features beautiful belle epoque influences with wall mirrors, perfect moldings, a stunning hand painted ceiling, red velvet banquets, brass lighting, and Laduree-like green walls.
La Posta Vecchia Hotel is conveniently located 40-minutes outside of Rome. I’ve seen many beautiful images of the hotel on Instagram lately, and they are making me want to go to Rome faster than a speeding ticket. The five-star hotel is built on the site of an ancient villa and 17th-century castle in the coastal town of Ladispoli, a few miles from Rome. The location is ideal just to relax while enjoying the beautiful facilities or you can borrow a bike from the hotel and visit the Etruscan sites nearby. The hotel also has a small museum with archeological findings beneath the structure. Guests can take the train from Rome and be picked up at the local station.
The restaurant Proxi in Chicago is as energetic, fun and tasty as it is beautiful. The beautiful interior was designed by Meyer Davis, with barrel-vaulted ceiling, colorful patterned floor tiles, floor to ceiling windows, antique mirrors and leather-quilted curvy banquettes. The restaurant is located in a former printing press and it’s devided into three spaces in a lofty-like space.
If you are familiar with Architect Gil Schafer’s body of work, you know it’s classic, warm and enduring. His firm, G.P. Schafer Architect’s new office is not the expected kind, and that is a good thing. Often when we hear of touring an Architect’s office, the first impression that comes to mind is that of an ultra modern, all glass and concrete office. Well not always, in this case the office belongs to the beloved classical architect who doesn’t only design building structures, but also decorates houses.
Gil Schafer, head of G.P. Schafer Architect is known for building homes that appear to have been around for longer. His work is very well known among designers due to his many beautiful work published in many interior design magazines as well as in his own design books.
I feel like I’m cheating by posting about Windsor, a luxury residential club in Vero Beach, Florida as a commercial space of the week. For many reasons, first because although it offers many commercial spaces, it’s also a community. Windsor is a village by the sea in Vero Beach, Florida where every detail was perfectly planned and designed to give their residents the ultimate luxury living experience. Every one of their amenities is set in perfect-looking settings.
The private residential club offers a full-scale Equestrian Centre consisting of 18 stables and 14 paddocks with 4.6 miles of riding trails surrounding the community, a 400-yard-long polo field, the tennis courts designed by Wimbledon champion Stan Smith are lined with jasmine, a championship golf course and much more. Windsor was founded in 1989 by Canadian businessman W. Galen Weston and his philanthropist wife, Hilary Weston, the former lieutenant governor of Ontario. The now luxury residential community started as a private summer residence for the Weston family, later they enlisted Andrés Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk to design the New Urbanism style of living.
Whenever I hear of one of Tory Burch’s Interior Design projects I know it’s going to be quite spectacular since her frequent collaborator is the uber-talented Architect and Interior Designer Daniel Romualdez. Tory Burch’s Manhattan office is as chic as it can be and it’s proof that office design can be personal and cozy while elegant as well. Tory’s office was designed with feng shui disciplines to bring harmony and positive flow to the workspace. “I work with a feng shui master,” Burch told AD.
