I love to run. I never thought I was going to be able to run since I was never an athletic child then I discovered that if I tried harder or alas push myself by running for 5 straight minutes the first week, 10 the next and so on, it could get myself to do it for straight 40 minutes. I know that’s nothing for professional runners, but for me, that is enough. And towards the end of those 40 minutes, my body lets me know it’s time to stop, so I listen. I noticed that after I run I feel better in general, more relaxed but at the same time more excited, I feel more powerful and capable. All mindfulness-based practices that make us concentrate on our breathing and being present can give us psychological and cognitive benefits. I was happy when I came across this article about What Does Running Do To Your Brain. It explains with scientific facts how running can improve the functioning of our general being.
And while you are there, working on your body while working on your brain, work some more and learn how to improve your memory, Science tells us the key.
