Plaster walls work as a soothing canvas for the ornate iron stair railing and parquet de Versailles floor.
A 1939 Georgian Revival is reimagined with a modern Parisian flair. The owners are fans of clean lines and modern furniture, but the home they bought had a traditional interior architecture decorated in styles ranging from country French to Baroque something more fitting of the countryside perhaps. Ornate moldings and panelings were replaced for more simple ones more appropriate to the period of the home and the owners’ art collection.
The goal was to add excitement and interest in the form of exclusive furniture and top-notch art. Very French details such as parquet de Versailles wood floor, intricate iron stair railing are juxtaposed by modern art and modern sculptural furniture. A dream home, indeed.
In the sunroom, my favorite room in this house, two replicas of Jean Roye sofas live harmoniously with a Pierre Jeanneret’s teak-and-cane armchair.
The media room with lacquered ceiling and vintage Italian chandelier.
The artwork is by Paul Rousso. I saw Paul Rousso’s art in person while in Palm Beach, and it’s even more gorgeous.
The kitchen as kept modern with clean lines. Custom Eggersmann cabinetry and calacatta marble for the countertop.
