I posted a few months ago about this new trend of kitchens looking like anything else but conventional kitchens. This trend seems to be determined to linger over a little longer, which is perfect for small spaces. The first two images are great examples of this idea. In this kitchen the modern lines of the only existing lower cabinets juxtapose with the antique chevron floors. This kitchen looks more like a sideboard in a hallway than a real kitchen. The simple details of the African masks emphasize the zebra wood-like cabinets. The lower kitchen, with the undecorated center island, looks more like a slick and modern flower shop cutting station that’s been set up for a buffet.

I think the only thing I like a chevron pattern on is a wood floor. That floor in the second photo is awesome!

I really like the chevron floors and use of stripes in the first picture. That's a kitchen I could get right to work in!

I am not a huge fan of kitchens for myself, although I have done dozens for others. If I was doing one for myself again it would look just like this one. Love!
